We Do Need Another Hero Throughout history, there have been groups Three Heroes Three Three Heroes that have shaped the future of Albion and the lands beyond. At the height of the Old Kingdomfollowing the construction of The SpireThree Heroes three Heroes defeated an ancient evil emerging through a rift from The Voidand sealed it away in a temple in the desert. The magnitude of their power caused the Spire to shatter, wiping out the Old Kingdom. The three Heroes were transformed into Willstones by the explosion, which contain their most powerful abilities. Their followers, known as the Three Heroescollected the Willstones and stored them away in four temples scattered across northern Albion and the Edgelands until a time when their power was needed again. The tombs of three great Heroes can be found in the garden of the Heroes' Guild. It is unknown whether or not these Heroes lived at the same time, but together their spirits judge the worthiness of a Hero seeking to claim Avo's Tear. They lived in a land far to the east of Albion a long time ago, and were an invincible force only stoppable by death. They created a sword, a gun and a gauntlet to preserve their might. After the Triumvirate's defeat at the Three Heroes of Three Heroes unknown force of evil, the three Heroes took their weapons and sealed themselves within the confines of their fallen Guild Hall. The Heroes' bodies and their Icons remained protected by a powerful ward that held the evil forces at bay, each awaiting a worthy successor to take it for themselves. While the names Three Heroes the Heroes are unknown, their icons have surfaced in recent history:. They are needed in order to bring about the demise of Lucien Fairfax. They represent the three Heroic traits - StrengthWill and Skill. They are needed in conjunction with The Hero of Bowerstone to summon The Relicwhich is integral Three Heroes defeating Lucien. They are first referenced by Lucien who says that the main character is not one of these, but the fourth. Theresa calls these three by their fate card names:. At the same time however, they promoted discrimination against demi-humans and the Shield Hero who they viewed Three Heroes evil people. On top of a large priesthood and nuns, the Church also had its own military and shadow network. Pope Balmus would utilize Three Heroes weapon during his climactic battle between himself and the Three Heroes Heroes. The cult that Three Heroes eventually morph into the Church of the Three Heroes was founded several Three Heroes years before Naofumi was summoned as the Shield Hero. Centuries ago, when the Waves of Calamity first threatened the world, only humans existed on the continent. Originally, there were only two Legendary Heroes to protect Three Heroes citizens, the Spear and the Sword Heroes. During Three Heroes of the waves however, survivors from a separate dimension managed to cross between the two worlds following the destruction of their own planet. One that worshipped all of the heroes equally as chosen heroes of God sent to protect the world, the Church of the Four Heroes. For Three Heroes time all was peaceful. In the eyes of these biased Three Heroes, these traits made the demi-humans inferior Three Heroes humans and more akin to the monsters that roamed that the land. Preaching this opinion to the masses, the group found support amongst a number of like- minded bigoted Three Heroes. That country eventually became the Kingdom of Melromarc. Learning that the demi-humans were gathering Three Heroes within their new countries border, the two groups planned to lead the demi-humans into a trap and inflict genocide upon them. Amongst the conspirators, were the original Legendary Heroes. The Shield Hero likewise supported the motion and volunteered to personally lead the demi-humans into the trap. This was approved and the cultists got ready to spring their trap. However, Three Heroes demi-humans never came. This allowed the demi- humans to found their own nation, the Kingdom of Siltvelt. Given what had happened, the demi-humans were subsequently hostile to the citizens of Melromarc. With that, the cult adopted the name the Three Heroes Church. In time, the church established itself as the dominant religion in the Kingdom of Melromarc. The latter is treated with disdain rather Three Heroes as equals, and as creatures to either be exterminated or enslaved. In reality, Queen Mirellia Q Melromarc was the true power behind the throne, since Melromarc is a matriarchal monarchywith Aultcray serving as a proxy ruler in his wife's absence. King Aultcray, who had his own reasons to hate the Shield Hero, was aware of this plot and agreed to use his position to back them up. Their plan was successful. It appeared to back up everything that the Church had been preaching about the Shield Hero for generations. It is unknown how many of them were human or demi-humans. Amongst their numbers was Eclair Three Heroes, an upcoming knight and the daughter of the Queen's now deceased right-hand man. Since these adventurers opposed the Church's teachings, they were all executed before they could join Naofumi, with the exception of Eclair. Due to the latter's status as a noble, she was simply thrown into prison and left to rot. Like the rest of the Kingdom, they gave the group preferential treatment, and prior to the second wave, the Sword, Spear and Bow Heroes not only received sand from the hour-glass helping them learn new skills but were provided with a class up to make them more Three Heroes. Shortly before the second wave, representatives of the Church encountered Naofumi for the first time.
