Expressoin of Interest Boort Medical Practice www.bdh.vic.gov.au Expressions of Interest - Boort Medical Practice Boort District Health is seeking expressions of interest for a commercial provider to continue operation of a well-established and recently renovated GP clinic, located opposite the local hospital, from 1 November 2018 onwards. District of workforce shortage - RRMA5 – eligible for A1 Medicare rebate. The clinic is AGPAL accredited and fully computerised using Medical Director. The patient demographic is varied and consistent with other rural communities; an ageing population and a large farming and agricultural community. The solo practice includes three consulting rooms and one treatment room, a number of Allied Health services are available including Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Health Education and Health Promotion. The clinic supports the local 25 bed aged care facility on an as-needs basis, as well as a 7 bed acute ward and 2 bed urgent care centre at the hospital. GP involvement with hospital and aged care services, including separate on-call arrangements, is open to negotiation with interested GPs. Participation in the management of hospital patients also attracts a modern house located on the edge of Lake Boort and a vehicle allowance. About Boort Boort is known as The Northern Oasis, located in the north of country Victoria where the Loddon River meanders to the Murray, is a wide, flat valley dotted with wetlands and red gum-encircled lakes. Boort is 252 km north-west of Melbourne and within a 110 km radius of Echuca, Bendigo and Swan Hill. It is in the Mallee region, a small town on the shores of Lake Boort where swans, ibis, pelicans and other birds can be observed. Boort and the surrounding community population is approximately 1000, the lake is central to the town and is used for water sports including skiing, sailing, duck hunting, fishing and swimming.
