The Tom O'Hara Perpetual :rrophy will be presented to the "MAN OF THE MATCH" in today's Senior Hurling Final. The Trophy is named in honour of the late Tom O'Hara from Fennor in the parish of -Glengoole, who served as Secretary of the Mid-Board for many years. " Mid Tipperary Bord no 09 2008 hos, to dote, been a very successful yeor for mid Bord no Og. In March our U1.4 Footbollers beat West Tipperary to win the Tipperary inter·divisional competition for the second year in a row. In Moy our U 1A Hurlers won the Peadar Cummim. inter-divisional hurling competition also for the second year in a row. This resulted from the great dedication of our panel of players which included a representative from most clubs in the division. Great credit must go to the selectors Eamonn Sweeney (loughmorel, Sean Corbett (Durlos Og) & Ro) Rolph IMoycorkey) . Our U16 Hurlers also gave a good account of themselves by reaching the Munster semi-final loosing out to our neighbours from who eventually went on to win this competition . Great werle was put in by our selectors Lor Devone (Boherlohon), Seonie Johnson (loughmore) & Rody lowry (). I would like to toke this opportunity to thank all patrons who bought programs while attending senior and intermediate matches during the course of the championship. The selling of programs is a major source of revenue for mid Bard no Og and your generosity is greatly appreciated. Some of the revenue from this years programs has been used to upgrade and replace the hurling trophies for our competitions. We are also running on U12 Hurling Shield competition which would not be possible without this revenue. I wish all four teams competing today the best of luck in their respective Rnals. The teams include many players who represented mid Tipperary Sord no Og in the past. We hope that the current Juvenile players will go on to represent their clubs and counties at senior level in the future. Joe Kennedy - Mid Bard no Og Chairman Referees Profile: - An Reiteoir The referee for today's Mid Senior Hurling Final is John Kelly from the Thurles KRF club. John is a well known referee not alone within this division, but all over the county. As a native of County Kildare, John's refereeing commenced moinly on the football fields . He has refereed football matches at all levels in this division including a number of Mid Senior Football Finals. In the lost couple of years John became interested and got a Aoir for the hurling game and soon came to the notice of those appointing referees for county senior hurling championships which resulted in him toking charge of 0 number of senior hurling matches in the other divisions. This is Johns first Mid Senior Hurling Final and so we toke this opportunity to extend to him and his officiols our best wishes in lodoy's final . 12 Looking back at Yester Years Compiled by Bob Sloke/urn, President of the Mid Tipp Senior Boord.
