In celebration of 25 years of the Palm Beach – Tzahar partnership, we will visit our home-away-from- home in , and experience the incredible impact of our work together. Since 1995, Federation’s Partnership2Gether and you – Federation’s most dedicated leaders – have empowered the next generation of leaders to shape the future of Israel, expanded education and services for at-risk families, and strengthened the region as a unique destination. . We’ll also experience Federation’s impact throughout Israel with our global partners, The Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC).

DAY 1: SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH  Individual arrivals at Israel’s Ben Gurion international airport  5:30pm meet your staff at the hotel lobby.  Welcome Dinner – Enjoy a festive dinner together

DAY 2: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH Enjoy breakfast in the hotel's main dining room.  Walk through the Old City of Jaffa located by the ancient and famous harbor- walk the winding streets and visit the art galleries, little museums, beautiful gardens and the ancient Jaffa port.  Visit the Peres Center for Peace & Innovation - Founded by Shimon Peres, the center develops and implements impactful and meaningful programs with a focus on promoting a prosperous Israel, nurturing and highlighting Israeli innovation, and paving the way for shared-living between all of Israel's citizens and lasting peace between Israel and its neighbors.

 Visit Amigour, a Jewish Agency senior social housing initiative that provides quality subsidized homes for Israel’s most vulnerable citizens including holocaust survivors and immigrants from the former Soviet Union. Visit the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County supported social hall, currently under construction.  Visit a JDC Israel Unlimited program supported by the Jewish Federation that supports adults with disabilities navigate everyday tasks.  Spend a free evening in Sarona Market and enjoy dinner and shopping.

DAY 3: TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH Enjoy breakfast in the hotel's main dining room and check-out of hotel.

 Travel north to Federation’s partnership region, Tzahar (Tzfat, HaGlilit, and Rosh Pina) as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of our communities’ connection to each other.

 Meet the Israeli partnership staff and lay leadership steering committee over lunch.  Visit Young Innovators Fair. Meet 11th and 12th grade students participating in a variety of young innovators projects in the region. Learn about how they are the future of Israel's high-tech industry. See their projects on display and hear from them in English as they pitch their projects to you in a "shark tank" like environment.  Meet Emerging Leadership Program (Young Adult Leadership) and Young Ambassador Program graduates over dinner and hear how their participation in partnership programs have deepened their communal involvement and connection to the partnership.

OVERNIGHT: EDMOND HOTEL, ROSH PINA

DAY 4: WENDESDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH  Enjoy breakfast in the hotel's main dining room joined by Mayor of Rosh Pina, Moti Hatiel.  Visit Soul Room, which offers integrative arts workshops providing rehabilitative social and commercial training for people with disabilities. Participants of the workshops are involved fully in the creative process, from the developmental stage up to the finished product, thereby intensifying the sense of self-capability, positive self-image, and self-confidence.  Volunteer at Ziv Hopsital in Tzfat with the new Simcha Le’Yeled Activity Cart, donated by the Jewish Federation. Simcha Le’Yeled is dedicated to improving the quality of life for thousands of disabled and seriously ill children in hospitals and rehabilitation centers throughout Israel. They emphasize a personal connection with each child and the development of long-term relationships during their hospital stays, rehabilitation and into the future.

 Enjoy lunch with the Mayor of Tzfat, Shuki Ohana.  Tour the Old City of Tzfat with Rabbi Eyal Reiss, Director of the Tzfat Kabbalah Center and enjoy free time for shopping. For hundreds of years, Tzfat served as a center of Jewish spirituality and Kabbalah, making it the most natural focal point for experiencing the finest of Jewish spirituality. With this in mind, the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County realized the potential to develop the experience in Jewish spirituality and Kabbalah into a unique and economically viable tourism and cultural resource for the north of Israel and the Jewish world, and established the 'International Center for Tzfat Kabbalah'.  Visit the Tzfat Kabbalah Center and participate in a candle making workshop.  Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 5: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH  Optional: Sunrise tour of the Hula Valley Bird Sanctuary

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel's main dining room joined by Hatzor HaGlilit Mayor, Shimon Suissa. The mayor will share exciting new plans for Hatzor and lead us in a tour featuring the expansion of the city.

VOLUNTEER PROJECT OPTIONS (choose one per person)

Option 1: Youth Futures at the ORT Elementary School Originating in our partnership region through Federation, Youth Futures now operates in 36 communities across Israel and is one of the leading positive-intervention programs for children at-risk. It creates opportunities for the strengthening of children, teens, families and communities by means of a unique model featuring the Youth Futures Mentor. Meet children at the school and help them practice their English through reading and games.

Option 2: Beautification Project at a local school Participate in a hands-on renovation/beautification project at a local school, meet and interact with students as you work together.

BOTH GROUPS JOIN TOGETHER FOR THE AFTERNOON

 Enjoy a dairy lunch at Pelter Winery and go on a tasting tour of their fine wines. The area is known for its rich soil and air, which are both ideal conditions for cultivating prime grape vines. This is one of the best areas in Israel for local wine tasting.

 Ro'im Rahok (Looking to the Future) aims to address the problem of the weakening and depletion of human capital in socio-economic periphery communities as a result of negative immigration of youth. Visit this Federation funded program and learn how they retain high quality youth in the area; empower leadership; and strengthening social participation (volunteering and social involvement).  Free time in Rosh Pina to relax or to shop.  Celebrate 25 years of the Tzahar – Palm Beach partnership in a festive, community-wide event!

DAY 6: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13TH Enjoy breakfast in the hotel’s main dining room and check-out.

 Travel to Jerusalem and stop at a scenic overlook for a L’Chaim as we take in the view of the city.  Enjoy lunch near Machane Yehuda and then explore the food and spice market, one of the most beautiful markets and familiar icons in Israel.

 Check-in to our hotel and prepare for Shabbat.

 Enter the Old City through the Jaffa Gate and make your way to the Jewish Quarter. Experience Kabbalat Shabbat at the Western Wall plaza and experience how Shabbat iswelcomed in with singing and dancing by the hundreds of devoted worshippers.

 Festive Shabbat Dinner joined by lone soldiers, soldiers volunteering in the IDF from the United States.

OVERNIGHT: LEONARDO PLAZA, JERUSALEM

DAY 7: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH Enjoy breakfast in the hotel's main dining room. Experience the atmosphere of Shabbat in Jerusalem at leisure. For those interested in attending Shabbat morning services at nearby area synagogues, a list will be provided.

SHABBAT TOURING OPTIONS (choose one per person):

Option 1: Walking Tour of Yemin Moshe  Yemin Moshe was the first Jewish neighborhood to be established in the modern era outside the walls of the Old City. The picturesque 19th century area, founded by Moshe Montefiore, has seen quite its share of the city's tumultuous modern history; it sits on the seam between East and West.

Option 2: Israel Museum  Israel Museum, the largest cultural institution in the State of Israel and ranked among the world’s leading art and archaeology museums. The Jewish Art and Life wings feature the most extensive holdings of biblical and Holy Land archaeology in the world. While here, a visit to the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls (the oldest biblical manuscripts in the world), and the model of Jerusalem in the Second Temple period are a must.  Free time or return to the hotel to pack and prepare for the journey home.  Join together as we reflect on the mission and end Shabbat with Havdalah.  Enjoy a festive, farewell dinner.  Transfers will be provided to Ben Gurion airport for your flight back home. For those who are departing the next day, enjoy a free evening in Jerusalem.  Optional: Experience the breathtaking digital choreography of the Night Spectacular Sound & Light Show at the Tower of David Museum. Utilizing the dramatic backdrop of the Tower of David Citadel as a canvas, this one-of-a-kind high-tech performance brings to life the ancient city of Jerusalem throughout its historical time periods and glory before your very eyes.
