PHIL PARSONS Analyst, FOX NASCAR PHIL PARSONS Analyst, FOX NASCAR FOX NASCAR analyst and former driver Phil Parsons has been a member of the FOX Sports family’s coverage of the NASCAR GANDER RV & OUTDOORS TRUCK SERIES since SPEED’s first series telecast in February 2003 from Daytona International Speedway. In 2020, he joins the studio crew as an analyst for FOX Sports’ prerace and postrace coverage of the Truck Series after 17 years as a race analyst. Parsons began his FOX Sports tenure with SPEED as a pit reporter and transitioned late in the season to the role of color analyst in the television booth. The former NASCAR driver, whose résumé includes nearly 500 NASCAR CUP SERIES and NASCAR XFINITY SERIES starts, one Cup Series and two XFINITY Series victories, raced for 23 years before retiring from driving in 2001. Parsons finished ninth in Cup Series point standings in 1988, and in the top 10 in the XFINITY Series point standings in five different seasons. The younger brother of the late NASCAR driver and television analyst, Benny Parsons, Phil segued from the cockpit to the television booth in 2001 as an analyst for ESPN’s coverage of the Truck Series and remained through the 2002 season. In 2012, the Detroit native teamed with co-owner Mike Curb to form Phil Parsons Racing, fielding entries in the NASCAR CUP SERIES through the midpoint of the 2015 season. Parsons studied Business Management at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. He resides in Cornelius, N.C., with his wife Marcia, and they have three children, Kinsley, Camryn Spencer and Stefan.
