SAFETY RENALDO HILL

On the defensive pass interference penalty called against him late in the fourth quarter vs. the “They made a call. I just have to live (with) it and move on. I thought I looked back for the ball, felt a little tug and that’s what kind of got me off balance. I don’t know that I’d do anything differently in that situation.”

“I thought he was falling at that point too and when he was falling, that’s when I felt the pull and I was falling back. Like I said, they made the call and that’s all it was, accidental. With the hand, I was just trying to catch my balance and that’s all I can say.”

On the overall feeling of the team “I think everybody is in good spirits and when we look at the film and evaluate it, we know that we’re improving each week. We’re just continuing to try to get better each week so we can put a finished product on the field on Sundays. I know that guys are motivated to do that so I know when we come back in here on Wednesday, everybody will be ready to go.”

On positives the team can take from Sunday’s game vs. New York “I guess the improving part. I’m talking about just putting together a game for four quarters. We know we can compete in this league at the top level, it’s just putting it together for four quarters. That’s the big thing — we have a lot of people stepping up and playing bigger roles each week and it’s only going to help this team when we’re talking about improving.”

On S David Bruton and CB Nate Jones “I thought they came in and played really well. Nate is a very versatile player. He can play multiple roles and we needed him to do that this week and he stepped up big for us.”

On whether he did a lot of on-field coaching during the game “When you have fresh faces and new faces out there, I think you just have to emphasize (communicating) just that much more. We try to do a good job of communicating each week.”

On how playing a 4-3 defensive scheme differs from a 3-4 from the safety’s perspective “Not for me as much — I’m usually the deep part of the field, but it’s definitely changed up as far as gap fills and things like that. Other than that, it’s just playing football.”

On how the team can build on Sunday’s game vs. New York “We definitely can build, we can take a lot from this game and we’ve got to turn it into a winning effort and that’s why we’re going out there on Sunday and that’s the ultimate goal, to get the (win). There are a lot of good things we can take from this game and build on and see if we can get it to move over into this week coming up versus Oakland.”

On the competitiveness of the AFC West “We definitely know that (it’s a competitive division) and this week is going to be important to go out and get the (win). (It’s) a chance for us to go out and attack our (division) and we’re going to do a good job this week of preparing for it.”
