Paddle Numbers and Buyer’s Sheets Upon registration, you will receive a “paddle” with your bidding number on it. In order to participate in either the silent or live auction, you will need to have registered and have a bidding number. During the auction, keep track of your purchases on the half-page buyer’s sheet provided at registration. Absentee Bids Please do not bid for someone else. Complete an absentee bid form and give it to the official Absentee Bidders before the auction begins. Checking Out Check-out is available after the live auction begins. When an item is sold, the bidder number and price will be recorded and filed at the Check Out tables. When you wish to leave, or at the end of the auction, please go to the Check Out tables and present your bidding paddle. The totals for your purchases will be calculated. Upon paying, you will be given a receipt for each item you purchased. Payment must be made BEFORE you retrieve your items. Payment may be made by cash, credit card, or personal check made payable to Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington and write “Auction” on the memo portion of the check. Present your paid receipt when you pick up your auction item(s). All purchases must be removed on the day of the auction unless purchaser requires help transporting items and gets approval from Auction Chair, Deb Fish. Notification Donors of services will be notified as soon as possible after the auction of all those individuals who purchased the donated services. Buyers should keep a copy of the auction catalog and contact donors using the telephone number/email address provided in the catalog. Expiration Policy It is up to buyers to contact donors for services purchased. Unless both parties come to an agreement on a specific extension, purchases will be forfeited after one year. This policy protects donors from building up multiple obligations for unclaimed items. The buildup leads to reluctance to offer the service for the next auction. Enter your bid on the sheet beside the item. The number on the sheet should match the one on the item’s tag. Use your bidder number, NOT your name. Raise bids in whole dollar amounts only. 4 Do not cross out an old bid. Enter a new bid on a new line instead. Some items this year have a set price. If you want to purchase that, put your bid number on the sheet. Specific Guidelines for Silent Auction For the Kids’ and Family Table 1, bidding ends at 2:30 pm. Table 2 ends at 3:00. Table 3 ends at 3:30. Highest bid at closing times wins. Some items on the Silent tables will be set at one price with a specific number who can bid on them. If you bid, you win at the designated price. Winning bids will be highlighted on bidding sheets after the bidding closes. Do not remove bid sheets from the Table Areas! After paying, you must pick up your item from Table Personnel. Specific Guidelines for the Live Auction Enter your bids by raising your paddle high in the air for the spotter to see and the auctioneer to acknowledge. Feel free to bid as many times as required to enter the winning bid. During the live auction, feel free to continue placing bids for Silent Auction items. Auction will end at 4:00pm, proceed to check-out. After paying, you must pick up your item(s). THANK YOU AND ENJOY THE AUCTION!! 5 Kids and Families KF01 Rainbow Pack of Homemade Play-Doh. 6 lots. For many years it was difficult to get a strong red color glaze – this is a problem no more. When the Strictly Functional Pottery Exhibition started, There was a lot of red and yellow underglaze lavishly applied across many surfaces there were more divisions in the field of ceramics, and of the pottery. Though perky, I think that we are still seduced by the underglaze colors not many juried shows specifically for pottery. This themselves and miss that they often flatten form and overwhelm the pottery itself.

  • Soapstone Quarries Across the Globe
Our MISSION... SPARQ Home was founded on a mission to preserve nature’s soapstone quarries across the globe. In most quarries, up to 80% of all soapstone mined is deemed waste or scrap material. For businesses like kitchen construction, large and flawless slabs of soapstone are hard to come by. When each cut of stone is evaluated and deemed as either useable or scrap, the scrap stone far outweighs the useful slabs. These blocks of scrap stone are then simply tossed to the side of the roads to and from the quarries, destroying the landscape aesthetically and environmentally. Like so many other unfortunate instances of humans exploiting nature, these soapstone quarries leave behind a butchered mess of broken blocks, torn down trees and muddy roads. After witnessing the waste, founders Chavez & English embarked on a journey to clean up the disastrous quarries worldwide and find a purpose for the discarded soapstone. Sparq Home was born in 2012 from their efforts, and the entire Sparq Home line is hand-crafted from this recycled soapstone. Located in Denver, Colorado, we’re working daily to turn waste into beautifully designed products - from our hearts to your home.
