For many years it was difficult to get a strong red color glaze – this is a problem no more. When the Strictly Functional Pottery Exhibition started, There was a lot of red and yellow underglaze lavishly applied across many surfaces there were more divisions in the field of ceramics, and of the pottery. Though perky, I think that we are still seduced by the underglaze colors not many juried shows specifically for pottery. This themselves and miss that they often flatten form and overwhelm the pottery itself.
