Using random matrix analysis of a weighted social network, we demonstrate the profound impact of weights in interactions on emerging structural properties. The analysis reveals that randomness existing in particular time frame affects the decisions of individuals rendering them more freedom of choice in situations of financial security. While the structural organization of networks remain same throughout all datasets, random matrix theory provides insight into interaction pattern of individual of the society in situations of crisis. It has also been contemplated that individual accountability in terms of weighted interactions remains as a key to success unless segregation of tasks comes into play. Apprehending various physical systems under the framework of networks has been in practice since a couple of decades [1,2]. Recent years have realized the need of this framework in understand- ing a myriad of social phenomena in various disciplines ranging from psychology to economics [3] for instance, in understanding spread of behaviour across a population [4], assessing organizational performance [5], outbreak detection of disease propagation [6]. A total of 8931 movies have been documented so far in Bollywood from 1913 to 2012. Bollywood is not only confined to the Asian sub-continent but has global outreach [Ref. 8 of manuscript]. The large fraction of Indian emigrants [2] invites the screening of Bollywood movies across the globe in various countries. For example, in countries like UK, Morocco and many more, the Bollywood actors see huge enthusiasm from the people over there [3, 4]. 2 Method for construction of networks From the Bollywood data collected for a period of 60 years spanning from 1953 to 2012 from the movie repository website www.bollywoodhungama.com, names of all the movies and their corresponding information are extracted using Python code. Initially we document names of all the films as per their chronological sequence (latest to oldest) from the websites by incorporating the desired URL [5] in the code along with a built-in string function which takes the page num- bers (932 pages in Released before 2012 category and 24 pages in Released in 2012 category) as input. Each film of every page bears a unique cast ID in the website, navigating to which via Movie Info provides us with complete information about the film. In the Python code, we 1 store the unique cast IDs of films in a temporary variable and retrieve relevant information using appropriate keywords from respective html pages.

The unique characteristics of Southern cinema include fans and fan clubs, cinema, politics, devotional and folklore genres, and so on. Heroism that exists in regional cinema in India is highly characterised by male dominance. The main aim of the paper is to understand and analyse the representation of the female lead roles in Telugu cinema over the years. There are very few female actors who could achieve the status of female lead roles to the stardom on par with male actors. The paper explores depiction and use of female body and male heroism in Telugu and other South Indian languages cinema. In the midst of male-dominated industry, the paper analyses female actors’ depiction in Telugu and other South Indian movies. In fact, the notions of ‘Hero’ and ‘Heroism’ are closely associated with all the film industries in India. Whether it is Bombay cinema or four cinema industries in South India, heroism has become an important phenomenon over the years. Patriarchal and Male-Centric Most films are predominantly patriarchal and have their themes around male-centric ego.
