Operational update: Visibility of Laboratory results.

Previous briefings from Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust have described the migration from GP Gateway to the GP Connect programme. This includes the replacement of WebPath with ICE as the means of accessing laboratory results.

All laboratory results are now being uploaded to the ICE system and this is the primary source for requesting tests and viewing lab reports. Please note that WebPath via the GP Gateway is no longer being updated comprehensively and should be regarded only as a repository for historic results.

We are currently receiving a large volume of enquiries for results where the users have been unable to find records via the Gateway, but they are available on ICE. Please check ICE for results before phoning the lab. ICE provides the additional benefit of being able to track when samples arrived in the laboratory, if requests are placed electronically. Shortly the facility to request on paper will be withdrawn where ICE can be implemented.
