The streak was the second-longest in franchise history, just one shy of the record set in 2000-01. The Avs out-scored the opposition 67-28 (+39) during the streak and out-shot them 591-369 (+222).

BOTH ENDS OF THE ICE As of Saturday, the Avs were leading the NHL in goals-per-game (3.55) and ranked third in goals-against-per-game (2.35). Colorado also leads the league in goal differential at +47. Ten different Colorado skaters have at least 20 points (most in NHL) and seven have 10+ goals (tied with Florida for first). The Avalanche and Rangers are the only teams with three 8+ goal games this season and also the only teams with six 6+ goal outings. Colorado's +47 goal differential is tied for its second-best through 40 games in franchise history (+53 in 1994-95). The Avalanche had a +50 goal differential through 38 games, the highest through 38 contests in Avalanche/Nordiques history. Over the last nine seasons, only one other NHL team was +50 through 38 games: the 2017-18 Lightning (+51).

SWEET HOME Colorado is 17-4-2 at home, tied for the most points (36) and wins in the NHL. The Avs are out-scoring their opponents 88-48 on home ice (+40), including 51-18 in the last 11 contests. After finishing 7-1-1 in their nine-game homestand from March 5-20, the Avs followed that up with a 5-0-1 homestand from March 25–April 3. That 5-0-1 mark equaled the best homestand of six or more games in franchise history (5-0-1, Oct. 25–Nov. 8, 2005). The 7-1-1 home stay matched the second- best homestand of nine or more games in NHL history.

FEELING GRU-BI Philipp Grubauer leads the NHL in wins (24), shutouts (5), games played (33) and starts (32), while his 2.00 goals-against average ranks third (min 10 GP). Grubi's 24 wins and five shutouts are both career bests. He went 12-0-1 over a span of 13 games from March 10–April 5, setting a franchise mark for consecutive games with a point. Grubi had a career-high, eight-game winning streak from March 10-25, allowing one or fewer goals in all eight appearances (seven starts). He became the first netminder to go eight-plus decisions without allowing more than one goal since in 1991-92 (eight).

FIRST OF ALL The Avs have scored the first goal of the game 28 times, the most of any team. Colorado is 23-3-2 when scoring first, the most wins in the NHL.

D-LIGHTFUL The Avalanche's defense has combined for a league-best 105 points (16/89). As of Saturday, Cale Makar was leading all defensemen in points/game (0.96), Samuel Girard was tied for seventh in assists (25) and points (30) and Devon Toews was second in plus/minus (+22).

FIRST STAR Philipp Grubauer was named the Honda West Division First Star of the Month for March. He tied the NHL record for wins in a month with 12, compiling a 12-2-1 record, 1.56 GAA, .933 Sv% and three shutouts in 15 appearances. The only other netminders to win 12 games in a month were Sergei Bobrovsky (Dec. 2016), (Mar. 2010), Ray Emery (Mar. 2006) and Bernie Parent (Mar. 1974).

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT Colorado ranks first in the NHL in shots-per-game (35.3) and shots-against-per-game (25.2). The last NHL team to lead the league in both was the 2009-10 Blackhawks. The Avs pace the NHL in shot differential (+406), out-shooting the opposition by an average of 10.15 shots per night. Colorado has out-shot its opponents in 33 of its 40 contests this season (most in NHL). The Avs own a 24-7-2 record when holding an edge in shots, the most wins of any club. They have out-shot their foes 693-430 (+273) over the last 18 contests.

MARCH-ING ORDERS Colorado finished 12-2-3 in March, setting franchise records for wins (12) and points (27) in a single month. Colorado's 27 points led all teams and equaled the fifth-most in a single month in NHL history.

ALL HAIL CALE Cale Makar leads all defensemen in points/game (0.96) and his 0.91 career average is the sixth-highest ever by a blueliner behind (1.39), Harry Cameron (1.10), (1.09), Denis Potvin (0.99) and Ray Bourque (0.98). Cale surpassed the 70-point career mark on March 29, becoming the seventh-fastest blueliner (79 GP) to do so behind Mark Howe (61), Cameron (66), Brian Leetch (69), Larry Murphy (73), Sprague Cleghorn (75) and Phil Housley (78).

JOONAS DON-SCORE Joonas Donskoi on March 31 recorded the fastest hat trick to start a game in franchise history (7:31 into the first). His three goals came 3:27 apart, marking the second-fastest hat trick in franchise history (Alain Cote 2:17, April 1, 1982 at Boston). Donskoi became the first Colorado player to score three goals in a period since Tomas Fleischmann on Dec. 15, 2010 at Chicago (3rd).

MARCH MADNESS Mikko Rantanen led the league in points (25) and goals (13) in March, the second highest monthly totals in Avs history. Only Joe Sakic, who had 15 goals and 26 points in March 2000, enjoyed a better month since the team relocated to Denver. Landeskog finished second among all skaters in points (24) and tied for third in goals (10).

SOMETHING SPECIAL As of Saturday, Colorado's penalty kill ranked sixth (83.7%), while the power play was 10th (23.8). Colorado is 19-4-2 when allowing zero PPG and 17- 6-2 when scoring a PPG.
