VOLUME 12 / ISSUE 2 / APRIL 2019 BELCONNEN DOG OBEDIENCE CLUB / 3 MEMBERSHIP FEES UPDATE The BDOC Committee would like to advise our existing members and potential members that the schedule for BDOC Membership Fees has been updated as of Thursday 18th April 2019. The Joining Fee ($80) remains unchanged for new and re-joining members. The Membership Fee and the Activity Fee have been adjusted to ensure that they provide a fairer cost to members regardless of when they begin training at BDOC. These fees were previously charged either on a full year or half year basis and so members who joined in the later sessions in their fee bracket (Session 5 or Session 2) were receiving less weeks of classes than those who joined in the beginning of their fee bracket (Session 3 or Session 1). The Membership Fee and the Activity Fee will be dependent on when a member joins the club. All BDOC memberships will now expire at the conclusion of Session 2 of the Canine Companion Class calendar. This usually occurs around June, and in 2019 the dates for Week 8 are Thursday 20th June and Sunday 23rd June. The new BDOC Membership Year shall commence in Week 1 of Session 3 of each year. Members must renew their membership before Week 4 of Session 3 of the Canine Companion Class calendar (Thursday 18th July and Sunday 21st July 2019), or they will be required to pay the Joining Fee again. Members can expect to receive reminders about membership renewal via email around June and July. If your details have changed since last year, please send email us at [email protected] so that we can update your membership details accordingly. Existing members who commence a new activity (such as starting a dog sport with an already financial dog, or adding classes for a new dog to their membership) partway through the BDOC Membership Year can expect to pay the Activity Fee on a pro rata basis, in a similar fashion to what new Canine Companion participants would be charged for starting classes at the same point in the BDOC Membership Year. The below tables outline the new fee schedule. If you are a new or renewing member and you would like help figuring out how much your fees will be, please visit theFee Calculator on our new website.
