There will be a $4.00 service fee if entries are cancelled for any reason per dog per show. These service fees are non-refundable. Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owner's records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner's records. If, at the end of the 90-day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by the American Kennel Club, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by the AKC." NON-REGULAR CLASSES, INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES Stud Dog Class - For dogs that have sired two dogs or bitches entered in this show. The award will be based on the merits of the get. The owner of the stud dog need not be the owner of the get. As the judge's decision in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class, will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. The Stud Dog must appear in the ring with his get and be entered in the Stud Dog Class. Brood Bitch Class – Same as Stud Dog, except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and produce for get. Connecticut is holding hearings on the following bill - Connecticut House Bill 5566: • Would make it an infraction for an individual to knowingly represent, either expressly or impliedly, that a dog is a service animal or being trained as a service animal, for the purpose of obtaining any rights or privileges afforded to an individual with a disability, unless such dog is a service animal or being trained to be a service animal. Infractions in Connecticut may result in a non-criminal fine. American Kennel Club is backing this legislation and has published the following Canine Legislation Position Statement MISUSE OF SERVICE DOGS Service dogs are defined as those that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.

Please note Krista’s email regarding State Fair benching & demo assignments, and note that there are still openings. We now get over 12,000 per day people visiting our new Pet Pavilion. That is because of our beautiful dogs and wonderful people and presentations, but also because of all the new development and new vendors at the north end of the Fairgrounds. That, of course, means that we need more people to help get information out about purebred dogs. If you can bench or you can provide a demo, please contact Krista Peterson, [email protected] or contact me. The State Fair Committee will be sending information out about helping out at the info desk. It’s great fun answering the varied questions we get at the info desk and referring folks to the resources they need. Looking forward to working with you at the Fair.     FINNISH CHAMPION TITLE REGULATIONS 2020 1 FINNISH CHAMPION TITLE REGULATIONS Valid as of 1.1.2020. This document is a translation of the original version in Finnish, Suomen Valionarvosäännöt 2020. In cases of doubt, the original version will prevail. REQUIREMENTS APPLIED TO ALL BREEDS Finnish Show Champion (FI CH) At least three certificates obtained in Finnish dog shows under three different judges. At least one of these certificates must be obtained at the minimum age of 24 months. Possible breed-specific requirements regarding trial results will also have to be met. The change enters into force on 1.6.2011. (Council 29/5/11) The requirements regarding trial results are minimum requirements. For a dog that has a Finnish owner / holder, results in breed-specific trials gained in Nordic countries count towards the Finnish Show Champion title. (Council 24/11/07) Finnish Agility Champion (FI ACH) A dog is awarded the Finnish Agility Champion title once it has been awarded three Agility Certificates in the highest class in Agility, under three different Agility judges. In addition, the dog must have obtained at least the quality grade good at a dog show at the minimum age of 15 months. A foreign dog is awarded the Finnish Agility Champion title, once it has obtained the national Agility Champion title of its country and has been awarded one Agility Certificate in the highest class in Agility in Finland. (Council 23/11/2019) Finnish Jumping Champion (FI ACH-J) A dog is awarded the Finnish Agility Jumping Champion title once it has been awarded three Jumping Certificates in the highest class in Agility, under three different Agility judges.

    2020 NJ 4-H State Dog Show DOG CARE AND TRAINING RULES Classes offered for Dog Care and Training members: Obedience, Jr. Showmanship, Grooming, Agility, Rally, Canine Good Citizen testing, Trick Dog, and Wild Card Pre-Novice. *NEW THIS YEAR* Wild Card Pre-Novice – see page 6 Puppies MUST have had their first shots against all necessary diseases in order to participate. For their own protections, un-vaccinated puppies should NOT be brought to the show. Failure to comply may result in disqualification. 4-H State Dog Show Rules for Dog Care and Training Project Members: 1. Dogs must be the current project of the 4-H member. Leaders are expected to check record books to be sure that member are using only those dog(s) which they are actually tracking for their current 4-H project. 2. In the Obedience division, dogs may enter only one class in which they are currently working. Members will be pre-registered by their club leaders and have final approval by their county agent/program associate. 3. All entries must be up to date on distemper, parvovirus, and rabies vaccinations, and may be asked for proof of vaccination. 4. Any animal that shows signs of illness will be excused from the ring and sent home from the show grounds. 5. Female dogs must have been out of season five days. 6. Dogs should be clean, well groomed, and wearing the correct collar and lead. Collars with prongs, electronic collars, or collars that are either too tight or unreasonably large are not permitted in the show rings (taken from AKC rules).

Revisions to the Obedience Regulations Effective May 1, 2021 This insert is issued as a supplement to the Obedience Regulations amended to January 1, 2019 and approved by the AKC Board of Directors February 9, 2021 CHAPTER 1 – OBEDIENCE REGULATIONS GENERAL REGULATIONS Section 3. Premium Lists, Entries, Closing of Entries. (paragraph 5) The premium list shall specify the name and address of the Superintendent or Trial Secretary who is to receive the entries. Only one mailing address may be used for receipt of paper of entries. Paper entries delivered to any other address are invalid and must be returned to the sender. Section 27. Limitation of Entries and Methods of Entry. If a club anticipates an entry to exceed the capacity of its facilities for a licensed or member trial, it may limit entries, not to exceed up to eight hours of judging time per day, per judge. Prominent announcement of such limits will appear on the title or cover page of the premium list for an obedience trial or immediately under the obedience heading in the premium list for a dog show.
