The scientists are only trying to clone animals for now, but they are predicting by the year 2020 they will begin cloning humans. But until the scientists can suc- cessfully clone animals they have agreed to refrain from human cloning. Xu Xiaochun is the scientist that has been running the cloning facility and he said, “Unfortunately, currently the only way to have a child is to have it be half its mom, half its dad. But maybe in the future you will have three choices instead of one, you either have fifty-fifty, or you have a choice of having the genetics 100% from daddy or 100% from mommy. This is only a choice.” Xu later added that the factory could hold up to 5 million different cell samples. One of which is a wooly mammoth and it is in the process of being created by Xu’s partner, Sooam. The scientists can also bring your dead pets back to life for a whopping $100,000. That’s a large price to pay, but in regards to clon- ing perhaps the bigger question should be, “is cloning a human ethical? Should we be allowed to bring animals back from the dead? Or should we just let bygones be bygones?” We Bare Bears By: Krystal Jones We Bare Bears is a new comedy animated series on Cartoon Network. The show was created by Daniel Chong and first aired on July 27, 2015. We Bare Bears is about three brothers who are bears and their attempt to find their place in society. There is Grizzly, better known as Grizz, who is more or less the leader of the three brothers. Grizz is a fun loving and friendly grizzly bear. Next is Panda, who is a panda bear. Panda is a kind hearted, tech savvy, hopeless romantic who gets embarrassed easily. Panda enjoys blogging and watching anime. Finally there is Ice bear, a stoic polar bear of few words. Ice bear is a bear of many talents as he is multilingual, a skilled chef, and a mar- tial artist. Another main character in We Bare Bears is Chloe Park. Chloe is a Korean-American prodigy who has skipped grades and is now in college. Af- ter breaking into the bear’s cave Chloe ends up befriending the brother bears.     Cartoon Network Partners with 826 National to Create the First Inclusion Storytelling Project Thursday, December 7, 2017 Cartoon Network Partners with 826 National to Create the First Inclusion Storytelling Project Encourages Students to Share Their Stories as Part of “Stop Bullying: Speak Up” Cartoon Network is expanding its award-winning, “Stop Bullying: Speak Up” campaign by partnering with 826 National to launch the Inclusion Storytelling Project, which encourages youth across the country to share their individual stories about kindness and empathy in an effort to stop bullying before it starts. Working in collaboration with Cartoon Network, 826 National and its network of eight internationally celebrated youth writing organizations created inclusion-themed writing workshops for elementary and middle school students to inspire stories of compassion and understanding. Hundreds of students from the 826 Network participated in the project, and the students’ fiction and nonfiction stories will be compiled into eight illustrated publications. Each of the 826 Network chapters will host a local book release event, during which these young authors will share their work with the community. “Many of the students we serve at 826 come from traditionally under-resourced communities that are most affected by our changing political and cultural landscape,” said Laura Brief, CEO of 826 National. “We believe our students have the power and perspective to end a pervasive culture of bullying, and we are so excited to partner with Cartoon Network in sharing their stories and voices on a national scale.” The 826LA Echo Park location will be the first of eight chapters to release and celebrate student work from the Inclusion Storytelling Project with an event on Thursday, December 7 from 2:45-4:15pm.

    Asian-Americans Solidarity through We Bare Bears Series Case Study: Money Man Episode Alfi Zulfa Nooraida 1, Meidia Rea Smithiana 2 {[email protected] 1,[email protected] 2} 1,2 Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia Abstract. Since We Bare Bears Series was released in 2014, it has not been analysed by academicians especially on Money Man episode. In Money Man episode of We Bare Bears Series tells about life of Asians-Americans. The purpose of research is to analyze the message in the Money Man episode of We Bare Bear series . The research collaborates the close reading method, focusing on the characterization, identifying the plot and elaborates the recent research findings for collective action Asians-Americans. The findings show the competition process between two Asians-Americans, occurs when Chloe Park and Saanvi Patel were competing each other to get the grants from Dr Bean, the symbolism disappearance of grantor as the event of economic changes, and the solidarity were made. This episode has different opinion from findings of the recent research which stated the economic and demographic changes predicted to intergroup competition between Asians and Non-Asians has no effects on the rate of pan-Asian collective action. The message of the Money Man episode shows that Asian-Americans seemed to compete each other, but as minorities they would actually unite to survive in the area where minorities repressed because of the White Supremacy rhetoric that still presents around their environments.
