“I am a Year 7 student - new to the academy, and I wanted to share my fundraising story in the hope it inspires other students to join me in making a difference to so many people’s lives. A message from the Head Girl and Head Boy I started fundraising when I was just five years old, after seeing some people raising money at a rugby game. My first challenge was a two mile walk that I arranged with some friends. Always a highlight of our academy calendar, our Presentation Evening took place on Thursday 15th November this year, and was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of students, past and present. Similarly, our Year 7 girls’ football team gave a fantastic performance in what was their first ever football tournament! Our girls showed great enthusiasm and determination in all of their matches, and brilliant teamwork, particularly as this was the first time that they had all played together.

They were unbeaten going into the final against Kettlethorpe, where they displayed a valiant performance in an end-to-end game, unfortunately losing 3-1.
