The following facts apply – • Manufacturer provides a special API that allows this additional functionality to be enabled. • Typically these enhanced clients are available from the vendor app stores as opposed to the generic Android marketplace. • There are country and carrier specific variations on whether these features will be enabled on smart devices (phones, tablets etc.). Specific details are mentioned below. a. Vendor: Samsung Enhanced Features: In order to get these features working, one needs to install the Samsung-specific Pulse build (i.e. signed by Samsung) on a Samsung smart device. These features will not work otherwise. a. Enterprise (Layer 3) VPN b. Although all the Samsung devices ship with the API, Samsung constrains the functionality on certain platforms by the platform (vendor) key that will not recognize the Pulse Secure signing key. Thus as a rule of thumb, if Pulse can be installed on a given Android device, the enhanced functionality will be available. b. Vendor: Lenovo Enhanced Features: Enterprise (Layer 3) VPN. • Economic Times Google's New Android One Smartphone
Source: Economic Times Google's new Android One smartphone launches on July 14 for Rs 12,000 By Danish Khan NEW DELHI: Google has gone back to the drawing board for Android One and come up with a version 2.0 as it were. Having met with a tepid response for the first phones based on the system in September last year, it appears to be reorienting the strategy toward people who've had smartphones before rather than first-time users, said a person with knowledge of the plan. That involves a shift in pricing as well. The latest Android One smartphone, made by Indian handset vendor Lava International, will be launched in Delhi on July 14 and will cost about Rs 12,000, roughly twice what the first phones were priced at. The launch is likely to be attended by top Google executives involved with the project. Android One was devised as a set of specifications that allowed companies to build cheap devices that ran smoothly on the operating system and got direct updates from Google. Another change relates to vendor engagement, said the person cited above. The latest device has been developed in collaboration on hardware and software with Lava and chipmaker MediaTek. Indian handset vendors weren't involved in design and development the first time around. "The first-phase partners took devices from original device makers (ODMs) in China and had no say over hardware and software. The latest device is controlled by Lava, which would be in a position to provide an enhanced experience," the person said.

Review: AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II 27 October 2011, By Matthew Fortner This also makes it pleasantly light. Despite having a larger screen and larger dimensions than my iPhone 4S, the Galaxy S II is lighter. Smartphone ergonomics can be subjective, but I felt more confident handling the Samsung. This surprised me since I thought the iPhone's smaller size would give it a handling edge. Users among those who actually make calls will appreciate the good and distortion-free call quality. Those moving from 3G will notice data transfer speeds over AT&T's HSPA+ network to be consistently faster, but not as fast as LTE. There has been a lot of talk about smartphone cameras lately. This new Galaxy S has an 8-megapixel back- illuminated sensor camera aided by a single-LED flash. It can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second. There is also a fixed focus front-facing Android is on fire, and Samsung is stoking the 2-megapixel camera that can also record VGA flames with the Galaxy S II. It's the fastest selling video at 640x480. Android device with 10 million units sold worldwide. Is the Galaxy S II the best current Android phone? There a have been a number of image Maybe.
