Smoot – Writer/producer [email protected] Ph: 202-570-3510 @coolrooment SYNOPSIS: Vega City. All things embrace offerings of dissimilar heritages to form a hybrid harmony. Then there’s the colors. Bright. Beautiful. Capra meets Kurosawa. But, underneath it all... Officer Rom Novo is a fresh robbery/homicide transfer. Night shift. No coincidence. No accident. Unless, you count the on-the-job incident, one week prior, that took his life. He’s here in pursuit of a vision quest that has taken over his mind with memories that are not his own. To understand the deep love he feels for a woman he has never met... in a town he’s never been to. The first big clue comes as he investigates his first case -- a one car fatality crash that slowly reveals itself to be more like a ‘murder for hire’ than a random occurrence. The victim, Professor Syl, has left a particular trail of breadcrumbs for Rom to follow that will ultimately lead him to his destiny of becoming -- GRAVEWALKER. But first, he must figure out a way to stop a prophesied war he has uncovered. One that will kill every human on earth in an unsuspecting slaughter-battle being waged by Akah --- A soul-courier on a mission to permanently free his “flock”. MAIN CHARACTERS: Rom Novo Born dead and miraculously revived minutes later, Rom Novo has unknowingly always been linked to the macrocosm of the deceased. A kinship he will need to become aware of and weaponize against the prophesied condemnation of a purgatorial army. Sherman Augustus as Rom Novo (secured LOI) One of the stars of Netflix’s forthcoming Stranger Things 4, Augustus most recently rose to fame as the widely popular Nathaniel Moon on AMC’s hit series Into the Badlands. A 2nd Degree Black Belt in the martial art of Taekwondo, Augustus began his career by being drafted into the NFL where he played for the Minnesota Vikings and the San Diego Chargers. Augustus later made the transition to Hollywood beginning with his debut in the film Colors and has since appeared in over forty film and television projects including the series Chicago Hope, the cult Stephen J. Cannell series Profit, AMC’s Low Winter Sun and HBO’s Westworld. His feature credits include What’s Love Got to Do with It opposite Angela Bassett, Virus opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Sutherland, and The Mexican opposite Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt. MAIN CHARACTERS: Akah, a soul courier from an other-dimensional necropolis, is spearheading a purgation crusade against all surface dwellers. He won’t rest until he has leveled what he sees as the “Sin of skin”. Clancy Brown as Akah (secured LOI) AKAH Clarence John Brown III is a film, television and voice actor. He is known for his roles as the Kurgan in Highlander (1986), Captain Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Sergeant Zim in Starship Troopers (1997), Brother Justin Crowe on the HBO series Carnivàle (2003–2005), Waylon "Jock" Jeffcoat on the Showtime series Billions (2018–2019) and Stanley Thomas in Promising Young Woman (2020). His voice-over work includes Lex Luthor in the DC Animated Universe and various unrelated DC media, Doctor Neo Cortex in the Crash Bandicoot franchise (1997–2003), Mr. Krabs on SpongeBob SquarePants (1999–present), Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Lt. Hank Anderson in Detroit: Become Human (2018). MAIN CHARACTERS: JUBANOONE As clever and deadly as she is beautiful, Jubanoone owns the nightclub, The Big Swing, where she also is the lead singer for the band, Pretty/Prettie. Both a front for her underground selling of weapons and explosives which are outlawed in Vega City. Though a preference of total neutrality, she discovers her direct link the impending apocalypse and a life-altering revelation about her past. At 217 years-old, soothsayer Professor Syl has grown to weak to continue defending our realm. A prophecy of spectral retribution looms that will take every human life on the planet. With only 72 hours left, he’s got one last, desperate, possible solution — that doesn’t yet exist. Gravewalker. PROFESSOR SYL CREATIVE TEAM: ED NEUMEIER - PRODUCER (secured LOI) Ed Neumeier is an American screenwriter, producer and director best known for his work on the science fiction movies RoboCop and Starship Troopers. He also wrote Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation, Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (which he also directed) and Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars. KEVIN GREVIOUX - CONSULTING PRODUCER (secured LOI) Kevin Grevioux is a screenwriter, producer, actor and a graphic novel creator. Kevin co-created and wrote the original screenplay to the successful Underworld franchise, which was his first produced writing credit. He was co-producer on the film series and played the character RAZE. He wrote ‘I, Frankenstein’ produced by Lakeshore Entertainment. It was based on his original graphic novel. In addition, Grevioux is a prolific writer in the comic book/graphic novel world. He has written such characters as the critically acclaimed Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel for Marvel which he created. CREATIVE TEAM: THOMAS CURLEY - SOUND (secured LOI) Tom Curley is an American production sound mixer. He has won a BAFTA and an Oscar in the category of Best Sound Mixing for ‘Whiplash’. Curley is a member of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 695 since 2003. In 2008, he was inducted into the Cinema Audio Society, and then the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2015. JOHN BRUNO - VISUAL EFFECTS SUPERVISOR (secured LOI) Bruno is an Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor whose work includes the original Ghostbusters (1984), The Abyss (1989), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Batman Returns (1992) True Lies (1994), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) Avatar (2009), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 & 2 (2011 and 2012) and Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014). He has been nominated for six Academy Awards (winning for James Cameron’s landmark ‘The Abyss’) and two BAFTAs. As a director his credits also include the cult favorite Virus (1999) and episodes of television’s Star Trek: Voyager. WHY AUDIENCES WILL LOVE THIS... Chapel Hill 2016 Approved by: Minrose Gwin Jennifer Ho Megan Matchinske John McGowan Timothy Marr ©2016 James Benjamin Bolling ALL RIGHTS RESERVED ii ABSTRACT Ben Bolling: Serial Historiography: Literature, Narrative History, and the Anxiety of Truth (Under the direction of Megan Matchinske) Dismissing history’s truths, Hayden White provocatively asserts that there is an “inexpugnable relativity” in every representation of the past. In the current dialogue between literary scholars and historical empiricists, postmodern theorists assert that narrative is enclosed, moribund, and impermeable to the fluid demands of history. My critical intervention frames history as a recursive, performative process through historical and critical analysis of the narrative function of seriality. Seriality, through the material distribution of texts in discrete components, gives rise to a constellation of entimed narrative strategies that provide a template for human experience. I argue that serial form is both fundamental to the project of history and intrinsically subjective. Rather than foreclosing the historiographic relevance of storytelling, my reading of serials from comic books to the fiction of William Faulkner foregrounds the possibilities of narrative to remain open, contingent, and responsive to the potential fortuities of historiography. In the post-9/11 literary and historical landscape, conceiving historiography as a serialized, performative enterprise controverts prevailing models of hermeneutic suspicion that dominate both literary and historiographic skepticism of narrative truth claims and revives an ethics responsive to the raucous demands of the past.

    PRODUCTION NOTES Underworld: Blood Wars, the newest installment of the blockbuster franchise, finds Vampire Death Dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale) fending off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that has betrayed her.
