Sabot encompasses three divisions; Sabot Foundation, Sabot Racing, and Sabot Group. At the turning of the Civil War, President Lincoln recognized the duty to care for those who have borne the battle. For all who fought, and all men and women who still fight for freedom, the needs are clear and present. Sabot Foundation was born of the passion to deliver a duty of care to our veterans that embodies Lincoln’s words. We strive to support wounded or struggling veterans in any way that we can; the needs are great and our commitment equals our passion.

In this, our second year of serving veterans, the foundation continues to mature our strategic goals, our core business functions, and our delivery of direct support to veterans and those who served in a theater of combat. We do this through the active and generous support of our founders, donors, volunteers, and our team.

Strategic Goals Our current strategic goals include identifying veterans who need support (the kind of support that will improve their lives), providing experiences and networking that help veterans reintegrate into a normalized life, and identifying and obtaining sustainable financial resources to make these goals possible. Since we have discovered that combat veter- ans tend to prefer treatments/immersion within natural environments and natural healing as opposed to treatments involving the use of opioids, pills and like-type substances - our focus will expand to develop a long-term strategy that involves medical professionals who can assist veterans with: alternative programs; nature-based treatments in order to provide a time-out from everyday stressors; a reduction in PTSD symptoms; and a renewed sense of spiritual awareness which has made a huge difference for most veterans we have encountered. We have extended our involvement from assisting homeless veterans to financially assisting veterans on a limited basis in specific areas of need; to enhance their lives and provide them a nurturing push to help them transition as well as provide relief from long term injuries.

Core Business Functions We have invested time, talent and funding to stabilize and grow our core business functions. These range from estab- lishing and growing a trustee managed non-profit 501(c)(3), to delivering the systems and financial planning to ensure the sustainability of the organization for years to come. Elements of our work in 2018 included establishing processes to determine who and how we can effectively help, managing the logistics and expenditures of the events and activities, expanding our health programs, holistic platforms, education, and legal assistance while promoting alternative meth- ods to relieve the heavy use of pills and/or opioids. These elements encompass our core functions.

Service Delivery We plan our veteran team building and social activities with an open mind to ensure we deliver what actually moves the dial for veterans as we work across a range of projects. In 2018 we accomplished this through: service delivery to over 175 veterans; instituting social impact experiences and programs; creating exciting environments and opportunities to participate in adventures involving our professional off-road racing team; delivering outdoor events; and, most impor- tantly, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie.

Looking Back 2018 was truly a year of firsts for Sabot Foundation: • The Foundation was a major sponsor for the 30th Anniversary California Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the 100th Anniversary of the end of WW1. • On Memorial Day we honored over 35 veterans for a day at the Commemorative Air Force Wing; veterans were flown in actual WW2 vintage fighter planes and Bombers by Navy and Air Force Pilots, for a unique experience over the Pacific Ocean. • Contributed to the White Heart Foundation in support of USN HMC Holly Katke at the Naval Base at Point Mugu to provide special rehabilitation equipment and help with transportation. • Sponsored two certified medical training programs in , NV & Youngstown, OH for interested veterans. • Spent quality time with veterans in Ventura, CA en-route to the 2018 Invictus Games in Australia. • Visited General Raymond Thomas the Commander of USSOCOM and members of DOD at MacDill Air Force Base for a day of meetings surrounding the foundation and strategy talks involving the June 2019 DOD Warrior Games held in Tampa, FL. • In conjunction with Brothers in Arms Foundation, contributed to financial support for a press tour in Washington DC to increase the publicity of the feature documentary about Major James Capers Jr (USMC RET.), The Legend of Team Broadminded, Produced and Directed by Ashley Cusato. Capers was one of the Marine Corps first African American Special Operators, First African American Officer nominated for the Medal of Honor. He received the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, Purple Heart with cluster and was the face of the Marine Corps recruiting in the 70’s and 80’s. • Sabot Foundation donated $10,000 to the Special Operations Charity Network who supports organizations such as SEAL Kids who conduct academic testing, tutoring, therapy, advocacy, and enrichment to foster the success and well-being of the children of Naval Special Warfare members. • Contributed an additional $30,000 in cash donations to several other foundations. • Sponsored several events involving fishing with a Pro-Bass Group at Lake Folsom. • Identified and vetted a Neurometabolic Rehabilitation Program created by The Arizona Chiropractic Neurology Cen- ter as a way to assist veterans with neurological injuries such as TBI, PTSD, and CTE. As of this date, we are sponsoring two veterans as participants in their intensive treatment program.

We March Forward No grass will grow under our busy feet as we expand and streamline our vision in 2019. We aim to serve veterans with: • We believe in, and have fully witnessed, the turnaround that veterans experience through physical activity and medical support focusing on their personal and psychological well-being. With this in mind, we will document and share their stories to encourage more veteran participation. • Currently planning with the City of Malibu, CA, the Mayor and a key member of the City Council, an aquatic therapy event this year with aims to build strength, promote balance, and offer relief from stress and pain. • Complimentary medical, therapy and chiropractic professionals through a network of free-to-veterans service de- livery. This will be achieved in conjunction with One Life One Vet, an organization dedicated to connecting veter- ans to willing ‘no-cost’ service providers by implementing a platform of volunteer medical and alternative health professionals to donate their time to their local veterans in various service areas: chiropractic treatments for work- ing with PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy and other related injuries utiliz- ing Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT); massage therapy and acupuncture; creative arts therapies; other body work; supplementation, and other modalities to assist veterans to healthier mobility and mental health management.

Sabot Foundation exists to not only deliver at the front lines of need, but we also inspire others to be involved in this mission to help our veterans’ transition back into the civilian world after serving in combat environments. We owe it to them. The United States of America recruits all-volunteer armed forces. Simply relying on the government to serve every need goes against the principles of the armed services – to serve and protect the people of the United States. We each have a responsibility to do our part, veteran or civilian. Smaller organizations such as ours can be the vital bridge to serve those who have borne the battle.

ABOUT SABOT

Founded by Hammond Meredith and Jon Krashna, Sabot Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Charitable Trust creat- ed with one goal in mind: to support combat veterans and their transition to civilian life. The trauma that PTSD, CTE, TBI and other conditions imposed on veterans can often only be understood by those who have experienced it; the harrowing days and multiple deployments in support of operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Vietnam. Sabot reaches out to those who require assistance and provide opportunities to improve their quality of life in transitioning or sustaining a balanced lifestyle. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting veterans by inspiring life-long connections, participation in wholesome activities, fostering and utilizing ho- listic platforms to combat the effects of PTSD, CTE, TBI, educating the public about the impact of these con- ditions, and promoting camaraderie. Other Foundation activities include accountability meetings, outdoor events, and providing long-term support for job training and career building within the motion picture, television, and entertainment industries.

Sabot Racing, an affiliated company, is a full-time off-road racing team which participates in in Nevada and Baja, Mexico on the Score International circuit. During the past two years, Sabot Racing has promoted its efforts internationally by participating in the famed Gumball 3000 Rally Race; driving from to Japan in July 2018, and from Mykonos to in June 2019. Sabot Racing procures vehicle re- lated sponsorships to promote and engage in additional opportunities for active involvement in racing in order to advance Sabot’s mission.

Sabot Group continues to work alongside partners with similar goals to assist veterans with constructive transition in the community. Along with our partners, we believe that “No Soldier, Veteran, or Warrior will be left behind,” amplifying our mission to promote awareness and create actionable progress for veterans. Creating a lifestyle brand surrounding motorsports is a strategic goal for Sabot Group, involving artists, mu- sicians and public figures who are dedicated in support of our mission. Sabot Group is a leader in effective social change. With a business focus, we provide resources to veterans that directly aid in their well-being. In addition to several Sabot Group partners who donate products to Sabot Foundation, the net proceeds of Sabot Group’s unique apparel and special edition merchandise also support the endeavors of the Founda- tion.

Working Together For Veterans

A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER

PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) is a mental health problem that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event like combat, a nat- ural disaster, a car accident, or being the victim of a crime.

As an active or reserve member of the military, one may see combat. The United States has been involved in the longest war in its existence - 16 years - with an all-volunteer force, no draft or conscription. Many have been on missions that have exposed them to horrible and life-threatening experiences.

The number of veterans with PTSD varies by service era: • Operations Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Enduring Freedom (OEF): About 11-20 out of every 100 Veterans (or between 11-20%) who served in OIF or OEF have PTSD in any given year. • Gulf War (Desert Storm): About 12 out of every 100 Gulf War Veterans (or 12%) have PTSD in any given year. • Vietnam War: About 15 out of every 100 Vietnam Veterans (or 15%) were di- agnosed with PTSD at the time of the most recent study in the late 1980s, the National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Study (NVVRS). It is estimated that about 30 out of every 100 (or 30%) of Vietnam Veterans have had PTSD during their lifetime.

Other factors in a combat setting can add more stress to an already stressful situation. These factors include what you do in the war, the politics around the war, where the war is fought, and the type of enemy you face. This may contribute to PTSD and other mental health problems. More than 35 veterans commit suicide every day. Many of these are attributed to PTSD.

The highest rate of veteran suicide falls on those aged 19–29. In terms of raw num- bers, it’s the Vietnam Veterans’ generation who are dying in droves. But the biggest takeaway from the report is that 14 out of the 20 veterans who die each day aren’t enrolled at the VA. The increase in suicide rates for veterans outside the VA healthcare system has grown almost five times faster than those getting care at VA. Sabot has participated in several off-road (primarily desert) racing events in the past two years, and our crew included several combat veterans and injured combat veterans who participated in driving, pit crews, maintenance, and support in these various events:

SCORE (Southern California Off Road Enthusiasts) Interna- tional Off-Road Racing has been sanctioning off-road rac- es since 1967, held in Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula.

SCORE: The SCORE San Felipe 250 is a desert off-road race that takes place each year in early April near San Felipe, Mex- ico and was first held in 1982. The 33rd Annual 2019 San Felipe 250 was a grueling 350 mile loop race and Sabot Racing took first in their class.

SCORE: The SCORE Baja 500 is a loop off-road race starting and finishing in Ensenada, Mexico. The race course mileage varies from year to year and is usually slightly under 500 miles. The Baja 500 is celebrating its 51st Anniversary in June 2019.

SCORE: BAJA 400 The SCORE BAJA 400 (previously named the Tijuana Des- ert Challenge) held in September each year is a single loop off-road race starting and finishing in Tijuana, Mexico.

SCORE: The SCORE Baja 1000 is a desert off-road race which is held in November and traditionally a loop race, but in 2017 on its 50th Anniversary, it was a point-to-point race starting in Ensenada and ending in La Paz totaling 1,134 miles. There were over 400 entries from 44 U.S. States and 27 countries participating. The Baja 1000 is the final round of a four-race series. The (BITD) Racing Association is an American desert off-road racing association. It is oper- ated by Casey Folks, and it is based out of Las Vegas, Nevada.

BEST IN THE DESERT: Known as “The Greatest Off-Road Race in America,” The Mint 400 is an epic four-hundred-mile battle between the top off-road racers in the world in over twenty different classes of off-road vehicles. The race was started in 1967 and is steeped in American lore, as thousands of racers, as well as celebrities from around the world, have attempted to tame the harsh Nevada desert. An entire week of events lead up the famed off-road race in and around Las Vegas, including a vehicle parade, drivers meet and greet, pit crew contest, crowning of Miss Mint, multiple parties, qualifying, and contingency/vehicle tech inspection.

BEST IN THE DESERT: VEGAS TO RENO 600 The Vegas To Reno 600 debuted in 1996 and is the longest off-road race in the United States, featuring a point-to-point course starting in Southern Nevada and finishing in Northern Nevada. Racers from 25 States in the U.S., as well as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, , Ireland, Mexico, South , and Uruguay, compete in this grueling race each year.

NORRA MEXICAN 1000 The NORRA Mexican 1000 is a unique, five-day on and off-road vintage-flavored rally that takes place during the last week in April through Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula that starts in Ensenada and ends in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.

GUMBALL 3000 In June 2019, Sabot will be participating in this rally from Mykonos to Ibiza. Last year Hammond Meredith participated in the race from London to . Started in 1999, the Gumball 3000 Rally is an annual luxury automotive road trip taking place every year and traveling a different 3000-mile route. Drive through capital cities in front of hundreds of thousands of fans and photographers as Gumball shuts down famous landmarks in each town where spectacular static car displays are hosted and documented by the world’s press.

EDUCATIONAL AND JOB/CAREER PATH PLATFORM EDUCATIONAL & JOB/CAREER PATH PLATFORM You’ve served us, now let us serve you! We know what veterans have personally sacrificed for our country’s independence and collective success. And we have taken steps to bridge with an accredited program with resources and support to help with post-service success. The motion picture and television industry offer well paid, long term jobs within the production and support services. We have formed a partnership with an accredited Hollywood school to provide a training program with direct exposure to the media industry and a pathway to union membership to several or under-represented prospective veterans, and dependents whose parent has not returned from combat operations due to death or are inherently disabled due to combat or service operations. Students in the program engage in a training curriculum that offers hands-on work expe- rience in a career leading to working within film and television crews tasked with the production of television, motion picture, and other entertainment projects. Fellows have the chance to work in a business related to the motion picture studios and television networks’ portfolio of properties. Sabot’s role is not only to assist with enrollment but also offer scholarships and a variety of financial assistance to those actively engaged in the program.

SUPPORTING VETERANS & COMBAT VETERANS IN NEED Sabot Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable trust whose sole mission is to provide support to this country’s veter- ans and combat veterans as they face many challenges encountered during their rehabilitation, reintegration and healing process through participation in wholesome activities fostering fun, teamwork, and camaraderie.

DENTISTS ORGANIZED FOR VETERANS (The DOV Project) The mission of Dentists Organized For Veterans is to enhance lives by providing free, on-going, high-quality dental services in the first pri- vate, stand-alone, full-service dental clinic in the United States wholly devoted to veterans who do not qualify for dental services from the Veterans Administration and who cannot afford dental care. DOV has contributed over $35,000 in free dental services for two veterans we have sent to their organization in Tracy, CA. LIL BRAVEST The Lil’ Bravest was started by a group of Firefighters from FDNY Engine 84 and Ladder 34, located in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. They started the Lil’ Bravest in honor of two of their “Brothers” they lost in 2010. On October 17th, 2010, Rory O’Flaherty, who served two tours in Iraq with the U.S. Army, passed away at the age of 31. Two months later they lost their mentor and “senior man” of the firehouse John “Sully” Sullivan. John was a 27-year veteran of Ladder 34 and died on , 2010 of cancer as a result of his rescue and recovery efforts following September 11th. The Lil’ Bravest Inc. was founded to improve the quality of life for children who are hospitalized or being treated for childhood diseases. The goal is to put a smile on the faces of kids who are going through a tough time. These kids are the true heroes, and the funds raised go directly to improving their quality of life.

SABOT RACING X VETERANS Sabot Racing is a Desert UTV, and Drift Racing Team that invites veterans to motorsport and wilderness excursions such as hunting, fishing, camping, off-roading and even as working members of the Racing pit crew.

HOMELESS VETERANS Sabot Foundation has participated in two programs to supply care bags to the hard- hit Stockton area. The number of homeless throughout Stockton has never been more prevalent. Shelters are overflowing. Big en- campments persist. Small groups of home- less linger aimlessly along many city streets. According to Cal Vets, approximately 25% of homeless veterans were located in Cali- fornia: the highest percentage of any other state.
