    Andreas Mikkelsen set to join Hyundai Motorsport on a full-time basis for the 2018 and 2019 FIA World Rally Championship seasons Mikkelsen will join Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo and Hayden Paddon under contract with the team for next season, the team’s fifth year in WRC The Norwegian will compete in his first event for Hyundai Motorsport at next weekend’s Rally de España, alongside compatriot co-driver Anders Jæger. Alzenau, Germany September 28, 2017 – Hyundai Motorsport has today confirmed that Andreas Mikkelsen has signed a two-year deal to join the team for the 2018 and 2019 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) seasons. Mikkelsen will compete in all rounds of the 2018 championship in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, co- driven by fellow Norwegian Anders Jæger. Hyundai Motorsport’s existing crews of Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul, Dani Sordo/Marc Martí and Hayden Paddon/Seb Marshall all remain under contract for the 2018 season. Andreas Mikkelsen said: “I am delighted that Hyundai Motorsport has offered me the chance to return to the WRC with a full-time seat for 2018 and 2019. Under new Team Director Andrea Adamo, Hyundai Motorsport will contest its most comprehensive season in WRC to date with 14 rounds, including a new event in Chile. Birmingham, UK January 11, 2019 – On the eve of the official WRC season launch at the Autosport International show, Hyundai Motorsport has outlined its intentions to compete once again at the very forefront of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), with its sights set firmly on the manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles. The team finished as runners-up in 2018, for the third time in a row, having taken the title fight down to the wire. In one of the closest, most hotly contested seasons in recent years, a three-way battle was only concluded at the season finale in Australia. Running a revised crew line-up and with an extended calendar of 14 rounds in 2019, Hyundai Motorsport will aim to revisit the competitive form that helped it score three victories and 11 podium finishes last season. With WRC’s regulations remaining stable, the team has been able to evolve the technical foundations of its rally winning Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. All aspects of the car have been rigorously assessed in order to perform consistently across all terrains in the coming season.

    June 23, 2017 Toyota Motor Corporation GAZOO Racing Company Rally Poland: Preview TOYOTA GAZOO Racing accelerates onto super-fast Polish stages The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team will take on some of the fastest roads in the FIA World Rally Championship on Rally Poland from June 29 to July 2, when it will look to continue its strong momentum last time out in Sardinia. Now the team faces a brand-new challenge on rapid gravel stages that are very different from those of southern Europe, but with the possibility of more very hot weather. Car 10(Jari-Matti Latvala, Miikka Anttila) Although it is the fourth consecutive round held on gravel, Rally Poland poses a very different challenge to the events held before it, with soft, sandy and flowing stages. The high speeds can be similar to those seen on Rally Finland, so it will provide a good opportunity for the team and three crews to develop the performance of the Yaris WRC in these demanding conditions ahead of the following round. Rally Poland is based at the town of Mikolajki in the north-east of the country, where a super special stage hosts the opening stage on Thursday evening. It features again at the end of both Friday and Saturday’s action, when it follows two loops of four stages. The rally ends on Sunday with two stages ran twice, featuring the new 18.68-kilometre Paprotki test that serves as the event-closing Power Stage. To prepare for next week’s rally, all three drivers took part in a test on gravel in Estonia, using similar roads to those that will be seen in Poland.

Sébastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia (F/F) were crowned World Rally Champions for the fourth time in a row after taking victory at the Rally Spain. They guided their Volkswagen Polo R WRC to a fifth win of the season in Catalonia, finishing ahead of Dani Sordo/Marc Martí (E/E, Hyundai) und Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul (B/B, Hyundai). Their ninth podium in eleven races triggered wild celebrations. The Frenchmen can no longer be caught at the top of the overall standings in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Team-mates Andreas Mikkelsen/Anders Jæger (N/N) went into the Rally Spain as their closest rivals in the title race, but the Norwegians’ hopes of winning the championship were dashed when they were forced to retire from the rally. Eighth place in the Manufacturers’ classifications for Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila (FIN/FIN) means Volkswagen is well- placed to claim its fourth Manufacturers’ title in a row next time out at the Rally Great Britain.     Volkswagens segerrad bröts i Rally Argentina Sébastien Ogier och Julien Ingrassia utökade sin ledning i FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) med en andraplats i Rally Argentina. I en dramatisk final förlorade trefaldiga världsmästarna till Hayden Paddon/John Kennard (NZ/NZ, Hyundai), som tog sin första seger i World Rally Championship. Andreas Mikkelsen/Anders Jæger (N/N), som liksom Ogier/Ingrassia kör en Polo R WRC, kom på tredje plats. Volkswagens segersvit med tolv raka segrar tog slut i Argentina efter att teamet varit obesegrade i 355 dagar. Ogier/Ingrassia och Mikkelsen/Jæger tog den 73:e och 74:e pallplatsen för Polo R WRC i bilens 43:e rally sedan tävlingsdebuten 2013. Polo R WRC vann elva av de 18 specialsträckorna i Argentina. Ett extremt rally Rally Argentina betraktas som ett av de tuffaste i WRC-kalendern – och 2016 års rally förstärkte det ryktet. Vägbanan var mycket grov med ett underlag som på vissa ställen var stenigt och på andra sandigt. Samtidigt innehöll delsträckorna både smala, vindlande sektioner och snabba, mer följsamma partier. Och den fruktade dimman på ikoniska delsträckan “El Condor” visade sig också i årets Rally Argentina. Dessutom återkom en av de största utmaningarna i rally-VM, i form av ”Mina Clavero”, som mest liknar ett månlandskap. I år var specialsträckan ännu mer krävande än vanligt med en grov och eroderad vägbana. Utökad ledning En knapp förlust trots full satsning. Sébastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia satte press på ledande Paddo/Kennard under de sista delsträckorna. När de nådde avslutande Power Stage hade de reducerat sitt underläge från 29,8 sekunder till 2,6 sekunder.

    2021 MEDIA GUIDE Arctic Rally Finland February 26 - 28, 2021 ROUND 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 Arctic Rally Finland February 26 - 28, 2021 HYUNDAI’S HELLO Given the freezing temperatures outside, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Arctic Rally Finland and for the first of what we hope will be two visits by the WRC and Hyundai Motorsport to the country in 2021. Before I underline the team’s hopes and expectations for this event, I wish to acknowledge all the hard work that’s gone into putting on this rally in such a short amount of time. The efforts of AKK Sports and all the volunteers, particularly in the context of COVID-19, has really impressed me so a big thank you to them. It’s fair to say we showed our limits on Rallye Monte-Carlo and found ourselves licking our wounds and trying to get ahead. Unfortunately, it didn’t work there and after making some changes to our approach we start the second round of the season hoping it will be much better than the first. Having wished a fond farewell to Carlos del Barrio after Monte as he prepared for the next chapter of his career, we are pleased to welcome back Craig and Paul for the start of their half-season campaign in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. We know very well their ability and determination as they try to make a strong start to their season. As well as our regular World Rally Car drivers, we are giving a big chance to a really promising youngster, Oliver Solberg.
