The Folkus Project – 8 PM Abbie Gardner Abbie is a fiery dobro player perhaps better known as a member of the popular group Red Molly. Tickets: $15

Hamilton College – Wellin Hall – 7:30 PM Ustad Shafaat Khan World-renowned Indian classical musician Ustad Shafaat Khan presents a concert of classical and folk and from India dating back to the 13th century. The first half of the concert will be a presentation of tabla solo with accompaniment. The second half of the concert is performed on sitar and vocals with accompaniment on tabla. Lyrics include the of poetry Rumi and Hazrat Ameer Khusru. Tickets: $20 adult/$15 senior citizen/$5 student

Nelson Odeon – 8 PM Stephane Wrembel Quite simply, Stephane Wrembel represents the living face of Django-inspired Gypsy jazz. He has been called “one of the best players in the world”. Tickets: $25 Advance

Nelson Odeon – 8 PM Christina Ohlman and Rebel Montez The queen of blue-eyed soul, Ohlman has played with Muddy Waters, Keith Richards, and is the current long-time vocalist with the Saturday Night Live band. Tickets: $25 Advance

The Folkus Project – 8 PM Darrell Scott Darrell is known as a songwriter for Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, and the Dixie Chicks. He’s also been a sideman for Steve Earle, Guy Clark, and Tim O’ Brien, and a frequent guest on the Mountain Stage radio broadcast. Tickets: $25

6 On The Square – 7:30 PM House of Hamill Rose Baldino and Brian Buchanan met when Brian's band Enter the Haggis and Rose's group Burning Bridget Cleary shared a stage at the Folk Alliance conference and they soon became musical collaborators. Together, they write unusual new fiddle tunes and exciting, unpredictable original songs while breathing new life into traditional and contemporary songs. Both are unique lead vocalists, and the blend of their two voices is hypnotic and irresistible. Pre-show tickets are available at $18 (plus a $2 service charge) or $22 at the door

Hamilton College – Wellin Hall – 7:30 PM Tempesta di Mare, Baroque chamber players The chamber ensemble of Philadelphia’s Baroque orchestra Tempesta di Mare performs A Tale of Two Italian Cities, chamber music from Venice and Naples. The group comprises recorder/ flute, violin, viola da gamba, lute, and harpsichord. The program includes Vivadi’s Lute Concerto and La Notte, Scarlatti’s Concerto in A Minor, and other works of early music. Tickets. $20/$15/$5

Joe delivers engaged musical narratives filled with heart, soul, groove and grit. He is a co-founder of the harmony trio, Brother Sun. Blending well-crafted instrumentals and vivid songwriting, Jencks serves it all up with a lyric baritone voice that has the edgy richness of a good sea-salt caramel. Nelson Odeon – 8 PM Leo Crandall This event celebrates the CD and Vinyl release of Leo's new album, Unknowable and Stunning Things. Leo will be joined by both his collaborator Hymie Witthoft and a number of special guests who appear on the record as well as members of his band, the Gonstermachers. Leo is a songwriter, musician, poet, filmmaker, and artist. He performs on requinto, cello, baritone guitar, mandocello, dutar, ukulele, and guitar. He has been nominated for the international Bluestar Award and charted #14 nationally in the Roots and Blues category.

6 On The Square – 7:30 PM Crys Matthews Crys Matthews blends Americana, folk, jazz, blues, bluegrass and funk into a bold, complex performance steeped in traditional melodies and punctuated by honest, original lyrics. Having been compared to everyone from Toshi Reagon to Tracy Chapman to Ruthie Foster, and equally thoughtful, realistic and emotional, her songs speak to the voice of our generation and remind us why music indeed soothes the soul. Earlville Opera House – 7 PM Hazmat Modine Hazmat Modine has toured the world for over fifteen years. The band distills American music into an essence from its myriad forms: Blues, Country, R & B, Rock-n-Roll, Jazz, Gospel, World Music, Soul, Roots... Nelson Odeon – 8 PM Yarn Yarn spent two years honing their chops at the famed Kenny’s Castaway in Greenwich Village. The band then took to the road, and shared stages with Dwight Yoakam, Charlie Daniels, Allison Krauss, Leon Russell, and The Lumineers. They have landed on the Grammy ballot 4 times, garnered nods from the Americana Music Association, and placed top five on the AMA album charts. Tickets: $23 in advance

The Other Side – 7 PM Alternative Electronic Music featuring works by: Ann Rhodes (solo voice and electronics using loops and soundscapes) Brandon Battles (ambient patches, heavy drone, and even dance orient studio productions) MONONIXON (modular synthesis and ambient jazz combined to relax the mind and calm the spirit) Tickets: $5

Unity Hall – 8 PM The Dust Devil Band One of Central New York’s classic good-time bands return to Unity Hall’s Ed Rosenburgh stage with their impressive musical talent and infectious sense of camaraderie. Opening act: Syracuse’s masterful female vocalist Syd Pinto accompanied by another CNY musical treasure, Paul Case. Tickets: $15

Unity Hall – 8 PM Celtic Fiddler, Jamie Laval The long-awaited return to Unity Hall of Jamie Laval, National Scottish Fiddle Champion. In his first appearance, Jamie had the floor shaking with stamping feet from the first set of Irish and Scottish tunes. But that’s not all. His stories about his musical travels here and abroad gave rise to audience laughter throughout the performance. People often tell us that Laval’s last performance was one of the best shows ever presented at Unity Hall. Tickets: $20

Nelson Odeon – 8 PM E.T.E This trio’s very dynamic and modern vision of Québec traditional music is shaded with influences of folk, progressive rock, and interpreted on fiddle, Irish bouzouki, and cello. Élisabeth Moquin also adds a special color to the group’s appeal through her masterful step dancing. With rich vocal harmonies, musical drive, and instrumental virtuosity, É.T.É transforms the traditional kitchen party into an unforgettably entertaining and lively performance. Fast gaining recognition for their outstanding performances in Bluegrass and Folk circles, Mile Twelve write and perform captivating songs and daring instrumental pieces. Admission: $20

Karyn Oliver is part Joan Osborne, a touch of Janis Joplin and a bit of – effortlessly oscillating from bluesy to country and back. Unity Hall – 8 PM Jay Schnitt and Gina Holsopple Jay and Gina were the first and second prize winners of last year’s Singer/ Songwriter Competition at Unity Hall. Jay is a remarkable presence in the local music scene with his well- crafted, humorous songs and his entertaining delivery.
