While presenting the General Budget 2021-22 on 01.02.2021, Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Hon’ble Minister of Corporate Affairs, Shrimati Nirmala Sitharaman quoted the following verse from Thirukkural of Tamil Poet, Thiruvalluvar :

இயற்ற쯁ம் ஈட்ட쯁ங் காத்த쯁ம் காத்த வ埁த்த쯁ம் வல்ல தர毁.

“A King/Ruler is the one who creates and acquires wealth, protects and distributes it for common good”.

It means : “Doing what is not met and proper, and not doing what is to be met and proper, are both deeds that will ensure disaster and destruction.”

“Aatankaraiyin maramum arasariya Veetiruntha vaazhvum vizhum antey – aettam Uzhuthundu vaazhvatharku oppillai kandeer Pazhuthundu veror panikku”

It means: “A tree standing at the bank of a river will fall by the force of wind. The rulers will fall when the tide turns. But the farmers who feed us from the land will never fall.”

आज से अपनी ककस्मत चमकाने चल पड़ा है।

While participating in the General Discussion on the General Budget on 10.02.2021, Shri Dayanidhi Maran recited the following verse from Thirukkural of Tamil Poet, Thiruvalluvar :

Allalpattu aatradha azhudha Kanneerandro Selvathai Theikkum Padai”

In English, it means :

“When the people suffer and cry unable to bear the aggressive suppression by the rulers, their tears alone have the powers to be turned into an army and defeat them.”

जो हर यात्रा को आसान बनाता ।।

एक छोर से दसू रे का कराता मेल

यात्राओं मᴂ जीवन बनकर दौड़ती िारतीय रेल ।।

饍वार पर दस्तक जब आपदा ने लगाया

रेलवे ने 63 लाख मजदरू ⴂ को अपने घर पहुंचाया ।।

वैक्सीन सℂपल को तेज गतत से लाई

एक साल मᴂ 1102.17 भमभलयन टन माल की कर ढु लाई ।।

सिी के स괼र से रहा है जजसका नाता जो हर यात्रा को आसान बनाता।।।।

कश्मीर से कन्याकु मार को भमलाया

सरकार ने इसके भलए 1 लाख 10 हजार 55 करोड़ का बजट बनाया ।।

इंफाल से नैनीताल जान माल बचाने मᴂ कामयाब हो गई

इसभलए कई रेल चलती कफरती असपताल हो गई॥

ककसानो को आपदा मᴂ जब कोई राह नजर नह ं आई

अन्नदाता की फसल लाने के भलए8 ककसान रेल चालाई।।

आपदा को अवसर की तरफ मोड़ कर लाया

आकांक्षा जनपदⴂ मᴂ िी नई रेल लाइन के भलए योजनाएं बनाया।।।

सिी के स괼र से रहा है जजसका नाता

जो हर यात्रा को आसान बनाता ।।

It means: “Education must give humility, humility will build character, character will lead to raising of earning, that is, creation of wealth in the righteous and ethical manner, which will lead to happiness of society.”
