1 Rescue at Rigel For Sudden Smith, getting into the Tollah moonba:se was not difficult. The hard part was finding his way through the maze of underground corridors, tunneled-out chambers, gravshafts, and tele portals, releasing the ten humans held captive somewhere within and getting out alive. Not that there was much choice: a full-scale attack from space would ensure the death of the prisoners. The trouble had started when a renegade High Tollah, fearing the traditional Tollah punishment for deposed leaders (being de mandibled), sought sanctuary in the Stellar Union. In a snit of frustration, the remaining High Tollah ordered a clawful of the nearest men and women-who happened to be from the Orion colony of Ultima Thule-taken prisoner. Inside a secret base on a moonlet circling Rigel, on the fringe of human-occupied space, Tollah scientists used their unwilling subjects to find a means of reducing the human race to the status ot Common Tollah-which is to say, sheep. In the Tollah scheme of things, there was room in the cosmos for only one set of decision-makers: the High Tollah. Rescue at Rigel, our first STARQUEST, brings the man-to-man excitement of our DUNJONQUEST series to the familiar universe of our ORION science-fiction games. It's a struggle not only against armed aliens, hostile creatures, and an unexplored environment, but • also against time and the dwindling resources of the vital powerpack. As Sudden Smith, it's all up to.you: You decide when to activate your force shield and at what setting to keep your powergun. -

The Apshai francise was fairly famous at the US and Europe at the time, and Gateway of Apshai was an action adventure spinoff of it. Gateway to Apshai is an action- adventure game for the Commodore 64, ColecoVision and Atari 8-bit. The Temple of Apshai Trilogy's manual only mentions what monsters will be encountered in levels one to four of "Temple of Apshai--" not on the later levels. I thought the original manual for "Upper Reaches" would list these "Monsters," but now that I've seen a pdf copy of the later manual, I've discovered that it doesn't list the "monsters. It's 1982 and a new home computer graces the scene. Seven Chunks of Character Creation: Examining Acceptance of Ranges for Attributes in Role-Playing Games
Seven Chunks of Character Creation: Examining Acceptance of Ranges for Attributes in Role-Playing Games Faculty of Department of Game Design Author(s): Malm, Karl Bachelor’s Thesis in Game Design, 15 hp Program: Game Design and Programming Supervisor: Magnus Johansson Examiner: Henrik Warpefelt June 2018 Abstract Digital game developers often struggle with creating games that are challenging but inviting towards new audiences. One of these challenges revolves around the complexity of character creation, specifically in Role-Playing Games. Presenting and utilizing statistics that a player can alter is done at a critical moment of play, often before a player has begun playing the main portion of the game. A risk therefore exists of confusing or alienating those who have adopted the game with too much information that has a significant effect on later experiences with said game. This paper sought to determine which player demographics seek or may avoid specific numerical complexity within digital games and suggests which range of decisions they would accept when presented with a new gaming experience, focusing specifically on character attributes (also known as statistics). -
