Class-IV Subject- E.V.S. Chapter-2 (An Extended family) Parents and their children live together in a house. They make an immediate family. An extended family may includes parents, children, aunt , uncle and grandparents. They may or may not live in the same house, but they are very much a part of the extended family. They also have love for each other. They help each other when it is required. They generally meet on certain occasions or festivals. We keep in touch with them through phone , letters. These occasions are:-  Birthday concerts  Anniversaries plays  Weddings tour  Festivals holidays  Picnic Maternal family:- maternal means mother side. The maternal family include mother parents, brothers, sisters and their children. Mother’s father is called maternal grandfather as Nana ji. Mother’s mother is called maternal grandmother is called Nani ji Mother’s brother is called maternal uncle or mama ji Paternal family:- paternal means father’s side. The paternal family includes your grandparent, uncle, aunt and their children. Father’s father is called grandfather or dada ji. Father’s mother is called grandmother or dadi ji. Father’s brother is called paternal uncle or chacha ji/ taya ji. Father’s sister is called paternal aunt or bua ji. Values in family:- values are important in everyone’s life. They make us a good and well mannered person. Honesty , truthfulness, non-violence are some important value that everyone should follow. Values are important in families.
