WWAG offers a range of groups to people with a mental illness, including art workshops, where many attendees have developed their own artistic style and identity. Experience has shown how important art can be in supporting self- understanding and expression, the resulting work often representing an image or feeling with which the viewer can readily connect. This exhibition is an opportunity for individual artists to show their connection with creativity and the journeys they are on, as they express themselves through the visual medium. Raphael Slekenov Artists have a range of skills and styles, resulting in work that is available for sale as well as to Romantics of the view. This has previously been a popular show and not one to be missed, particularly if you are Steppes looking for something a little bit different. Rafael’s canvases depict a decorative, rich, metaphorical Wednesday 5 July – Sunday 9 July Free entry world. His work is subject to the most daring combinations of colour definitions, which sometimes cause unexpected poetic associations. Often, the artist focuses on the primary colours, with occasional use of shades derived from these main colours. Sometimes a clear temperamental world gives way to delicate, transparent, light shades with their thin, quiet definitions. In his other works, the world of obscure, mysterious, vague feelings unfold before the eyes of Ashley School the viewer. Ashley Primary School will be holding their fifth exhibition at Riverhouse to show some of the work that the children have achieved, using a variety of media, through processes such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and collage. A beautiful collection of artworks and images will be gathered together for your enjoyment and inspiration.
