Top shout on the day was £112 from J Coleman, Tregole, Poundstock, followed by Mrs L Gregory, Horvacott, Boyton, who realised £111 for her Suffolk x. Grenville Rowe, Lanoy, also realised £111 for his Suffolk x Mules. Dorset Ewes £91 from George Williams, San Mark, St Kew. Richard and Bill Pethick, of Trevalga topped the Mules at £99. Hill bred ewes to £79. 119 Fat Hoggs Again all the well fleshed Hoggs sold to a premium, top per kilo being 259p for a pen of 47.4kgs £123 from Ivan Gribble, North Hill. 9 Pens of Hoggs over £130 to a top of £140 from Mr R Shazell, Tregamere Barton. Mr & Mrs C J Burrow, Tredown, Wellcombe realised £137 and David Hopper, Rew Farm, Sweets House realised £134 with his first pen of heavies. Couples 27E & 41L Smaller entry of Couples saw the strong Doubles realise up to £220 from Phil Collett, Boscastle, and single topped at £145 for a Suffolk x from Andrea Tippett, Crackington Haven. 63 New Season Lambs Again a strong trade by the Weight Top Average New Season Lambs. The Per Head Per Kilo Per Head Per kilo young tight skinned lambs 32.1-39 106 279 102.50 277 sold to a top of 301p from 39.1-45.5 122.50 301 113.60 279 Andrea Tippett, 45.6-52 131 273 131 264.9 Over all 131 301 131 278.5 Crackington Haven, 40 kgs £120.50. A R Hooper & Sons from Pengold topped the day per head at £131 for 3 pens.

STORE CATTLE AUCTIONEER RICHARD DENNIS

360 Store Cattle 360 Cattle through the ring at Hallworthy with a strong trade throughout. Top call went to a tremendously turned out run of Limousin & Charolaise x Cattle from Mr P Vian of Gorran, his top a bunch of 4 Charolaise x Steers to £1260 and a second bunch of 3 Limousin x to £1255, with his third bunch of 4 to £1205. A W Good of Launceston saw his best South Devon Steer to £1230. Messrs J & S Rowe of Middle Bodiniel, saw his best to £1185 for a powerful red Steer. M A Tillier of Lifton saw the top of his run, a British Blue Steer with plenty of scope to £1140 and 4 Aberdeen Angus x to £1065. Mr P Mitchell of realised £1055 for his top end Aberdeen Angus x Steers. A good run of Heifers were headed by D J Finnamore of Pollingarrow, St Kew with a wonderful run of Charolaise x, their top a pair of fleshy Heifers to £1175 and £1070. W & E Uglow of Trelash saw their best a bunch of 4 Charolaise x to £1090, and a pen of 6 Limousin x to £1035. M Bloomfield of North Hill with his last run of Devon x topped out at £1050. Younger Cattle saw D R & L J M Vickery of Bolventor top to £950, for a pair of Charolaise x Steers at 12 months. One young Pure Bred Charolaise Bull from Mr D Dunkin of Diddy Farms, St Stephen sold for £1300. A dispersal of Highland Cattle from Mr & Mrs M & B Clark of St Breward, saw their top to £850 for a 4th Calver, with Steer Calf at foot. The top end of in calf Cows at 85 months to 115 months topped to £640. The stock Bull topping out to £720. Bulling Heifers topped out to £610. The best Steers topped at £710, with younger Steers to £475.
