  • Kasi Viswanath Temple
Kasi Viswanath Temple http://www.shrikashivishwanath.org/en/myth/shivling.aspx Shiva The Supreme: Shiva Linga, The Mandala ** The frame of the cosmic reality, according to ancient Hindu thought, consists of the three fundamental states called evolution (Shrishthi), existence (sthiti), and involution (samhara) that acts in a cyclic process of infinity. Each one of the forms is controlled by a God, named Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver) and Siva/Shiva (the destroyer); these three Gods are called the Trinity. Shiva, being the last to complete the cycle from where the new cycle starts, is known as Mahadeo, the Supreme Divinity. The iconographic form of the Shiva, the Linga represents the unity of the three states of cosmos (shown in above figure). The Linga consists of the three parts. The first is a square base of three-layers at the bottom showing the three mythical realms (lokas), symbolizing evolution the place of Brahma. The second is an octagonal round form in the middle showing the eight directions, symbolizing existence or perseverance the place of Vishnu; and third is a cylinder at the top with a spherical end, symbolizing involution or completion of the cosmic cycle the place of Shiva. This icon shows the supreme state of integrity, the ultimate form of Shiva linga itself is a symbol of cosmic mandala. As Sadasiva (eternal reality) Shiva is represented as linga, standing also for 'total knowledge'. As Rudra, the destroyer, his consort is Kali. As Bhairava, the terrible destroyer, his consort is Durga. As a jovial god living in the Himalaya his wife is Parvati.

  • In the Divine Presence of Shri Babuji
OM TAT SAT IN THE DIVINE PRESENCE OF SHRI BABUJI S.A.SARNAD PUBLISHER Smt. SHAKUNTALABAI SARNAD GULBARGA IN THE DIVINE PRESENCE OF SHRI BABUJI : A spritual diary written in English by Shri S. A. Sarnadji edited and published by Smt. Shakuntalabai Sarnad, H.No. 1-1847, NGO’s Colony Jewargi Road Gulbarga - 585102. PUBLISHER’S NOTE It is very common that spiritual aspirants are always in search of Sadgurus and few of them will get such Gurus. But very few fortunate will have close proximity and get affection from them. Perhaps this may be due to the craving of the aspirant and deeds of his past life. Few such sadhakas who got the proximity of Sadgurus utilise the opportunities and note down their talks, discussions, explanations given, confidential matters, researches etc. and put them on record with their vast experience in the sadhana for the benefit of next generation to facilitate them to know about such Sadgurus and their teachings. Sarnadji was one amongst those who had joined Shri Ram Chandra Mission founded by Pujya Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur (U.P) in the memory of his Guru who had the same name Shri Ramachandraji Maharaj of Fatehgarh (U.P) during early 1956 and got close to him. Pujya Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur (U.P) was affectionately known as Babuji. Babuji is a respectable word commonly used for everybody in Uttar Pradesh and other northern parts of our country. One of the oldest Hindustani dictionaries gives the meaning of ‘Babu’ that, it is an honorific word closely equivalent to “Sir” in India.

  • Locster Juniors Played Cricket on Consecutive Days. F
Two games in two days! [posted 12/09/09] After what seemed like ages the 'Locster juniors played cricket on consecutive days. Firstly lets say a big thanks to Matty Coyle who somehow managed to prepare two decks whilst also preparing for the big T20 Finals Day - now that's multi-tasking! Good effort sir! And also thanks to others who helped out in ground prep' - NJ , Muscles and Pasty being key pairs of hands in this regards, as was Toko . To the matches. Friday saw the 13s romp to victory over Greenock in the youngsters' final league match. And what a difference a week makes. The week before, the guys had struggled against Greenock in a match abandoned at halfway. This time tho' it was the other way round. Greenock batted first and could muster only 32 all out as Saify grabbed 5 for 2,.....yes five wickets for two runs! Extraordinary! The other wicket-takers were Huss' , Haider and Saad, in other words all four bowlers needed. And a mention, too, for a great outfield grab by Mr Khaliq at mid off. Well held sir! And another tidy stumping by Armour the Jnr . 32 all out inside twelve overs. Surely the 'Locsters would chase 33 to win? Correct. But don't call me Shirley I hear you say. 33 for 1 inside six overs was the reply - convincing methinks. Yash finished unbeaten after opening with Rosco - the latter being the only victim in the innings, stumped by Neil Flack in a tidy piece of work behind the sticks.
