Lifesaving South Africa is the National Authority in the effort to prevent and the Our Vision promotion and delivery of Lifesaving Sport in building an active and winning lifesaving sporting nation in South Africa.

Lifesaving South Africa is the National Association for Lifesaving and Lifesaving Sport in Our Mission South Africa. In these roles Lifesaving South Africa leads, supports and partners with national and international organisations committed to drowning prevention, supervision, emergency response and sport.

This past year we had national teams compete at the Spanish Cup where our athletes won 2 gold, 2 silvers & 1 bronze and the Sanyo Cup in Japan where our team achieve 4th place.

I would like to thank our Director of Sport, Peter Odendaal, his committee, our athletes and everyone else involved in the sport of lifesaving. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Jelle Meintsma continued to serve as Secretary for the ILS Sport Commission. Helen Herbert is a member of the ILS Sport Commission and the RLSS Commonwealth Business Development Committee, she was also recently elected to serve on the ILS Board of Directors. Allen Pembroke continues to serve on RLSS Commonwealth’s Honours Committee and Dr Colleen Saunders on their Diploma Committee. I continue to serve as a trustee of the Royal Life Saving Society Commonwealth and ILS Vice-President for Southern Africa.

LSA continues to play a leading role in Africa and the Commonwealth, by providing support and advise other Southern African countries. PARTNERS
