Architect and interior designer Philippe Jégou was a longtime collaborator of Jacques Garcia, before creating his own agency Naos Décoration in 2008. Project manager for exhibitions at the Château de Versailles, at the Manufacture des Gobelins or at the Louvre Museum (in the rooms dedicated to the 17th and 18th centuries decorative objects), he also works on private projects in France and abroad. After opening the Naos agency in 2008, he started interior design for private houses or luxury hotels such as la Réserve Gabriel Paris or the Château Cos d’Estournel (Saint-Estèphe). Since 2014, he started creating his own designs; and today signs the decoration of La Chambre du Marais mixing velvets, wainscoting, trimmings and warm colors.
AN ARCHITECTURE CONCEIVED BY AURORE VACHETTE
The restructuring of the building was conceived by Aurore Vachette de Lesquen (Paris 1980). After studying at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland), she wrote a thesis about the restructuring of the Lausanne Opera House. She then moved to New York seeking an international experience and to open her mind to new ways of thinking, enabling her today to highly exible having obtained a wide range of experiences. When she returned to Paris in 2005, she joined the Renzo Piano Agency and collaborated on one of their main projects: the extension of the Art Institute in Chicago. She also became a leading persona in the conception of London’s Shard building, Europe’s highest tower (over 300 meters tall). In 2008, she leaves the agency to work in Australia. In 2009, she started her collaboration with the Vincent Bastie agency working for prestigious clients such as Marc Jacobs or the hotel La Belle Juliette. This was her rst experience working for boutique hotels.
In 2012, Aurore Vachette de Lesquen opened her own agency, specializing in building rehabilitations and constructions for hotels or cultural and artistic buildings. La Chambre du Marais is designed to offer the heartwarming welcome of a family home. In this new key venue you will nd nineteen of the most spacious rooms in the neighborhood. Each with their unique color design, they embody the designer’s creativity and special attention to the atmosphere. Everything has been created to greet the customer in the most pleasant and welcoming way.

Pierre Guillaume, independent perfumer-designer, founder of Parfumerie Générale, has created more than a hundred scents since his rst opus « Cozé » in 2002. For La Chambre du Marais, he has imagined a woody, oral and slightly spicy atmosphere, where the Guyana mahogany meets the absolute of the Turkish Rose, The Ceylan Cinnamon and The Venezuela Tonka beans, giving the place a warm and luxurious feel. The scent of the “Blue candle” is clearly centered on the luxurious wood omnipresent in the hotel: the mahogany.
The perfect balance between the oral (rose), sensually spicy (cinnamon) and vanilla (Tobacco, Tonka beans) notes creates the unisex and federative atmosphere.
The note is sweet, present, warm, elegant, but nuanced enough not to be « perfumesque ». The guest should be under the impression that the olfactive atmosphere comes from the materials used in the interior decoration.
The olfactive signature will come from the daily combustion of the candle and from the spraying of the fabrics, with a fragrance adapted from the “candle” formula. Tonka beans notes are reduced while plum and peach fruity notes are enhanced for a wild but yet light atmosphere.
