  • Elite German and Northern Ireland Racers Coming to Pikes Peak in June
Elite German and Northern Ireland Racers Coming to Pikes Peak in June Colorado Springs-----The 2019 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb’s booming international reputation will continue to grow in June as top- flight motorcycle racers Lucy Glöckner of Germany and Michael Dunlop of Northern Ireland will tackle America’s Mountain. Glöckner was the 2018 motorcycle Rookie of the Year in the Race to the Clouds, finishing fifth in the Pikes Peak Heavyweight Division, clocking 10:21.932 on her BMW S1000R, the 23rd fastest time overall. The 28-year-old racer, who lives in Krumhermersdorf, Germany, will be entered in the Heavyweight Division again, where she will face veterans like Codie Vahsholtz (third last year) and Australian Rennie Scaysbrook (second). She’ll also face a decorated international racer in Pikes Peak rookie Dunlop, who comes from Moneymore, Northern Ireland. He’s set to race a 2019 BMW S1000R in his debut, the same motorcycle as Glöckner’s entry. Both will be a part of the team, Wunderlich MOTORSPORT powered by ProKASRO. Dunlop (29) is part of a motorcycle racing dynasty, the brother of the late William Dunlop, son of Robert and nephew of former World Champion Joey Dunlop. The 2018 season was a tragic one for the Dunlop family, as Michael’s older brother William was killed during practice for the 2018 Skerries 100 on a Yamaha YZF-R1, joining his father, Robert, and uncle, Joey, as riders who lost their lives racing. He’s widely regarded among the most tenacious competitors in motorcycle racing. He won Superbike TT and Supersport TT races at the prestigious Isle of Man TT last year and has 18 wins in the famed race over the years.

May 12, Nicola Mcfall rated it it was amazing. This is a down to earth and honest memoir which is as much, if not more about the bonds of friendship, as it is about motorcycle racing. It is hilariously funny at parts, especially the first half. Reading it on a train was a mistake as I found Road Racing and Me roaring with laughter at the antics of Liam and Robert, scaring nearby passangers. I've had an interest in racing all my life, but was a young child during Roberts early career and remember nothing about it, so I found this section particularly int This is a down to earth and honest memoir which is as much, if not more about the bonds of friendship, as it is about motorcycle racing.

  • Trumpit No 02
The Trumpit Formally known as The Thackley Trumpit Established in 1990 July 2018 Issue 445 FREE The New Inn by John Trueman Local Hero Dean Harrison! Isle of Man TT Masterclass Page 20 Engaging Communities Page 4 PLUS All the usual features The Trumpit Editorial So my friends, how do you feel about the new Trumpit? We have had many comments in the first couple of weeks and almost all of them favourable, but we need more. We can’t possibly keep readers happy if you don’t tell us what you don’t like as well as what you do. Each month we will publish our ‘takings’ so you will all know what there is available for local good causes, secondly we also wish to encourage local writers and photographers to submit their work, we will not be making monitory offers for these but please let us have your names and addresses to publicize your work, but please tell us if you would like any details withholding. With the decline in sale of other local newspapers, local news is being lost, Social Me- dia is ok but it is over and done with the following day so we believe we are crucial in this by keeping news alive and in front of the public. Other matters this month are Hatches, Matches and Despatches (Births, Marriages and Deaths) another local service which has declined in recent years, but is still important. Please let us have these notices, just remember our deadline dates are usually around the 25th, of the month and space is at a premium so keep them relatively short.
