Dental services remain under pressure and full services have not yet resumed and have once again been impacted by the current lockdown. We are working with NHS England, who commission dental services, to get better information and will share this with you as soon as we get this. In the meantime, please email us with any questions and we will do our best to help [email protected] COVID vaccine A reminder that we have created a dedicated webpage on the Healthwatch Brighton and Hove website which is being regularly updated. COVID-19 Response Stakeholder briefing 26 January 2021 COVID-19 Vaccination update: Brighton and Hove This briefing aims to update you on the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Brighton and Hove. Latest position We have been stepping up the vaccination programme in phases over recent weeks and we have now done over 200,000 vaccines across Sussex. Official figures will be given later this week but we are on course to vaccinate the top four priority groups across Sussex by mid- February, in line with the national target. We now have arrangements in place for patients at every GP practice across Sussex, we have a large vaccination service going live from next week, and we have added two more hospital hubs to the six we already had in place. This will significantly increase our ability to vaccinate more people quicker in the coming days and weeks. Due to the relatively large number of people who are over 80 living in Sussex, we recognise it will take us longer than in some other parts of the country to vaccinate this priority group in particular. However, we are on track to vaccinate all care homes for older people by the end of the week, in line with the national target, and we expect to have vaccinated all over 80 year olds by the beginning of February. We are working extremely hard to vaccinate as many people as quickly as possible and we are committed to meeting the target of getting the four priority cohorts vaccinated by 15th February.

Miranda Magpies 2019/20 Yearbook We are greatly indebted to our sponsors and thank them for their continued support throughout the 2019/20 season. In turn, we ask our club members to support each of them. Executive Office Bearers Life Members President Scott Taylor Glen Lord, Flo Foster, Bill Secretary Peter Briscoe Foster, Ken Gardener, Paul Treasurer Paul Easton Soady, Ken Prendergast, Trevor Vice President Mark Easton McGregor, Gordon Johnston, Junior Registrar Gerard Burgess Mark Easton, Mario Senior Registrar Paul Easton Racomelara and Ray Davies. Equipment Officer Shane Murray Clothing Officer Gerard Burgess We are very grateful to Grill’d Miranda for providing our player of the match awards. President’s and Secretary’s Report The 2019/20 season was a complicated one by anyone’s standards. Heatwaves, bushfires and torrential rain led to cancelled training sessions and entire matches, but we just managed to scrape in finals games literally days before the COVID shutdown, so I suppose we can say we were lucky. With the committee now seasoned veterans of club management, having been in the gig for all of one season, I feel like we’re slowly managing to keep the ship on course with a little more consistency. But honestly, we’re probably responsible for all of 1% of the clubs success. The absolute vast majority of credit for the successful season goes to the volunteer coaches, managers, scorers, yearbook collaborators (thanks Janelle!), as well as parents and most importantly the players themselves. A positive start to the season is always a good thing, and a gain of 20 players to the club from last season was an excellent way to kick it off.

  • Performance Analysis of T20-World Cup Cricket 2012 Ananda B
Sri Lankan Journal of Applied Statistics, Vol (14-1) Performance Analysis of T20-World Cup Cricket 2012 Ananda B. W. Manage*, Stephen M. Scariano and Cecil R. Hallum Sam Houston State University Huntsville, Texas, USA 77341 Corresponding Author (Email: [email protected]) Received: 13 February 2013 / Revised: 15 May 2013 ABSTRACT Performance analysis of cricket players is always an intricate task due to the correlated nature of the variables used to quantify contributions to the team. Lack of transparency of current methods, probably due to commercial confidentiality, creates a necessity for new and lucent evaluative methods. Here, we present a simple, yet straightforward, method for analyzing the performance of T20-World Cup Cricket 2012 players that can be easily adapted to other team sports. Keywords: Cricket, Principal Component Analysis, Ranking Methods. 1. Introduction Quantifying individual player contributions to a team is an important yet difficult task in all team sports. Usually, there are several indicators available to measure player performances, which are based on different aspects of their contributions to the team. Unfortunately these indicators are mostly related to each other in a manner that oftentimes causes difficulty in constructing an overall performance measure. Our idea is to use a tool acquired from multivariate statistical analysis and apply it directly to T20-World Cup Cricket 2012 data. In this method, the first principal component is used to rank batsmen and bowlers. The technique is simple and can be directly applied to the type of correlated data routinely found in team sports such as cricket. Cricket administrators and sports analysts can use this amenable method to quantify players’ contribution, which could lead to a ranking structure based on their performances.

  • Middlesex Vs Sussex Sharks Royal London One-Day Cup Lord's
Middlesex vs Sussex Sharks Royal London One-Day Cup Lord’s, London Saturday 27th April 2019 Luke Wright rewrote the Sussex List-A record books to lead his side to a crushing 122- run win over Middlesex in their Royal London One-Day Cup South Group Clash at Lord’s. The veteran opener showed maturity mixed with belligerence to hit 166, so eclipsing Chris Adam’s 163 against the same opponents at Arundel back in the early noughties. It meant Sussex totalled 298 all out in a game reduced to 48 overs a-side by early morning rain – a total Middlesex were never likely to challenge. Wright’s heroics were all the more commendable as the visitors had been 6-2, 30-3 and 101-5 in the face of a magnificent opening spell from Middlesex warhorse Tim Murtagh (3-24)- Ben Brown (55) proved a staunch ally, the pair sharing a stand of 175 in under 22 overs to swing the game decisively in the south coast county’s favour. Such a scenario seemed unlikely when Murtagh got Middlesex off to the perfect start. Just five balls in the Ireland international had Phil Salt brilliantly caught on the deep- square leg boundary by Nathan Sowter without a run on the board. In his next over Murtagh repeated the trick when Stiaan Van Zyl played too soon at a ball just back of a length, George Scott holding a stunning catch in the shadow of the Tavern stand. And when Harry Finch chipped one into the hands of Tom Helm at mid-on, Murtagh had 3-9 from six overs.
