However, Nirmala falls in love with Ashoka, a poor man who once worked in Ishwanathan. To get Viswanathan's approval, Ashok pretends to be the sole heir to a wealthy businessman; he is supported by his friend Vasu, who pretends to be the fictional father of millionaire Ashok Chidambaram. A comedy of errors ensues when Vasu discovers that his beloved Kanchana is another daughter of Viswanathan. The main photos for the film took place mainly in Ooty and in The Aliyar Dam Guest House. One song sequence was filmed in Marina Beach, Madras (now Chennai). It was the first Tamil film shot in Eastmancolor. The cameraman was A. Vincent, and the editor was N.M. Shankar. The soundtrack and score of the film were written by the duo Viswanathan-Ramamurti, with lyrics written by Cannadasan. Kadhalikka Neramillai was released on 27 February 1964 and received a standing ovation for the comedy; it was a commercial success, working in theaters for over 175 days. Regarded as a trend-setting comedy, the film has since developed cult status in Tamil cinema. It was converted to Telugu as Preminchi Choodu (1965) and in Hindi by Sridhar himself as Piar Kiye Jaa (1966). Rajasri repeated her role in both of these films, while Kanchana did it only in Telugu. The film was also remade in Kannada as Preeti Madu Tamash Nodu (1979) and Marathi as Dhuma Dadaki (1985). The Viswanathan plot is an arrogant, money-minded property owner who lives in a bungalow called Chinnamalai Estate near Pollachi. His son Chellappa, an aspiring filmmaker, is the opposite of his father, expressing his displeasure with his father's arrogance. Viswanathan also has two daughters studying in Madras: Kanchana and Nirmala. Kanchana is in love with her college comrade Vasu. The sisters return home after graduation. Once, while the sisters were sightseeing, a battered car driven by Ashok, an assistant manager at their father's estate, crashed into their car. Sisters quarrel with Ashok and irritate his audacity. Later, they force Viswanathan to fire him. Furious, Ashok pitches a tent overlooking their bungalow and begins a strike to get his job back. Nirmala accidentally dropped a bucket on Ashok's head. Feeling guilty, she visits Ashoka's tent to apologize and they fall in love. Viswanathan decides to marry his daughters to wealthy men. Ashok realizes that because he is poor, he has no chance of becoming a future groom. Nirmala loves him, but she doesn't want to run away with him. He summons his friend, who turns out to be Vasu, to impersonate his rich father. Vasu comes to Chinnamalay and agrees to help. He disguises itself as a rich old man named Chidambaram. When Kanchana is injected into Vasa disguise, he is shocked because he believes Ashok loves Kanchan, but discovers, to his relief, that Ashok is in love with Meanwhile, Chellappa is starting a film production house called Oho Productions. Unable to earn someone faith in their abilities, he is engaged in film production. Chellappa unsuccessfully tries to convince his father to finance his film; He enlists the daughter of real estate manager Meenalochni to play the heroine in his film. Chellappa selects Ashoka for the film's script and asks Chidambaram to finance it. When the film does not progress as expected, Minahni's father forces Chellappa to marry her. Chellappa initially refuses, but realizing that he has no choice, he accepts the offer. During a short trip, Chidambaram reveals his true identity to the daughters of Viswanathan, who agree to play along. Viswanathan, believing that Ashok is the sole heir to the millionaire, asks Kanchana's consent to marry him. When Kanchana rejects this offer, Viswanathan asks Nirmala, who gladly agrees. Father Vasu Sachidanandam, who buys a nearby estate, is mentioned in Viswanathan and arrives in Chinnamalai. They meet and discover that they are childhood friends. Believing that it would be inappropriate to marry his youngest daughter while the eldest is not yet married, Viswanathan arranges a marriage to Kanchana with Vasu, who meets his father, but can not reveal his true identity, so as not to get caught. When Sachidanandam returns to Madras to prepare for his wedding, he discovers that there was not a word from his son, who had left for Coimbator a few weeks earlier. Sachidanandam almost cancels the marriage when Vasu makes a phone call at the last moment and approves of marriage. Sachidanandam's car breaks down and he takes refuge in the schoolteacher's hut until it is fixed. There he finds a picture of Ashok and realizes that he is the son of a teacher. Suspecting Ashoka of foul play to usurp Viswanathan's wealth, Sachidanandam files a complaint. Vasu and Ashok are in police custody. When Sachidanandam arrives at the police station, the truth behind the impersonation is revealed and he withdraws his complaint. When his daughters refuse to part with their lovers, Viswanathan understands their love and agrees to their request to get married. Starring Balaya as Viswanathan Muturaman, starring Vasu/Chidambaram Nagesh, starring Chellappa Rajasri, starring Nirmala Sachu as Minalokni Ravichandran, starring Ashok Kanchan as Kanchana Ragawan as Sachidanandama, Prabhakar as Minalon's father. Sridhar and Sadegopan, known under their screen as Chitralaya Gopu, have been friends since their stay at St. Joseph High School in Chengalpattu. Both were playwrights at school; Sridhar wrote plays and portrayed the main roles. Gopu wrote humor-oriented plays and portrayed comic roles. Later, when Sridhar had the opportunity to make a film, he asked Gopa to it and deal with humorous content. Success Success Kalyan Parizu (1959) led Sridhar to set up his own production house Chitralaya Pictures. Sridhar spent his evenings with Gopa as he drove along Marina beach, Madras (now Chennai). Gopu asked Sridhar if he wanted to work on a comedy film. Sridhar, known primarily for drama films, thought that the audience would not accept comedy from him. He reluctantly agreed to Gopu's insistence, and decided to create a full-length comedy and gave birth to the title, Kadhalikka Neramillai, which translates as No Time for Love. The whole story and the script were conceived on Marina Beach; According to Gopa, sitting in the open Sridhar Gazette, we discussed the scenario for days on end. The script was written as co-authors by Sridhar and Gopa. A. Vincent was hired as the film operator by N. Sundaram for photography, while N.M. Shankar was selected as editor and Ganga as art director. The choreographers were Thangappan and Mugur Sundar. Casting. S. Romana, who went to Madras in 1963 to join a medical college, was invited to see Sridhar, who was auditioning newcomers for the film. Raman was renamed Ravichandran and is featured in this film as as as ashok's character. Sivakumar auditioned for the role before going to Ravichandran. During the flight, Sridhar met a flight attendant named Vasundhara Devi and approached her to play one of the female hosts. Because she shared her name with Vasundhara Devi, the mother of the actress Vijayanthimala, Sridhar renamed her Kanchana to avoid confusion.
