By Sapna Maheshwari Aug. 12, 2020 Brooks Brothers, the venerable retailer that was founded in 1818 and filed for bankruptcy last month, said it would be sold to Simon Property Group, the biggest mall operator in the United States, and Authentic Brands Group, a licensing firm. The $325 million offer for Brooks Brothers, up from a $305 million bid last month from the same suitors, is subject to court approval this week, the companies said in a statement late on Tuesday. The buyers committed to continue operating at least 125 Brooks Brothers retail locations. Before the pandemic, the company operated 424 retail and outlet stores globally, including 236 in the United States, according to court documents. The offer for Brooks Brothers came from an entity known as the SPARC Group, a joint venture between Simon Property and Authentic Brands Group. The mall owner and A.B.G. have teamed up on deals to buy other bankrupt retailers in recent years, including the teen chain Aéropostale and the fast-fashion behemoth Forever 21. SPARC has also bid on Lucky Brand, the denim company that filed for bankruptcy last month. A.B.G. is known for acquiring the intellectual property of brands like Barneys New York and Sports Illustrated, then licensing their names to other companies and earning royalties from related products. The coronavirus outbreak has toppled several storied retail brands, especially those focused on apparel, as many stores were forced to temporarily close and demand for new clothing dropped in a remote, less social environment. -

The exclusive multi year licensing agreement allows PGB to source, manufacture, and distribute Calvin Klein Golf apparel for men and women. The license also includes the right to introduce other Calvin Klein Golf accessories on a global basis. The men’s and women’s Calvin Klein Golf Spring 2009 range is available at retail now from leading golf specialty stores and resorts in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Finland, Turkey, and Sweden. A full European roll out of the brand is expected by the end of the next quarter, and it is planned that by Spring 2010, that the global distribution of Calvin Klein Golf will expand to reach the Middle East (Dubai), the Americas, Africa, and Asia. ROVIO ENTERTAINMENT REPORTS 2013 FINANCIAL RESULTS Espoo, Finland -- April 28th 2014 -- Rovio Entertainment Ltd, the creator of the globally loved Angry Birds brand, announced today its financial results for the full 2013 calendar year. Rovio´s total consolidated full-year revenue amounted to €156 million (2010: €6.5 million, 2011: €75.6 million, 2012: €152.2 million). Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were €36.5 million (2010: €3.1 million, 2011: €46.9 million, 2012: €76.8 million), and net profit after tax was €26.9 million (2010: €3 million, 2011: €35.4 million, 2012: €55,5 million). “After three years of very strong growth, 2013 was a foundation-building year. We invested in new business areas, such as animation and video distribution, ventured into new business models in games, and consolidated our strong market position in consumer products licensing. With these investments we have been gearing up for the future growing markets”, said Rovio CFO Herkko Soininen. “Building on top of our games business, where we moved into free-to-play, Rovio set its foot strongly into the entertainment business. In 2013 we formed a world-class movie animation production team in Los Angeles that is already working on the first Angry Birds feature film, to be globally premiered in July 2016. In addition we built the biggest animation studio in the Nordics for the production of animated TV content, bringing to market 42 Angry Birds Toons episodes in its first year. In launching ToonsTV, we introduced new means of content delivery, with 2 billion views already.
