The Owls have averaged nearly 14 wins per season during the stretch and have won A-Sun Regular Season titles in two of the past three years. Several individual records were broken in 2004 while just four seniors departed from the second-highest scoring squad in team history. All three of FAU’s First-Team All-Conference selections return in 2005.

WOMEN’S GOLF…Individual per- formances stood out for the women's golf team in 2004-05. Freshman June Bolme was named A-Sun All-Conference and A-Sun All-Freshman after notching three top-ten finishes and a 78.28 scoring average to lead the team. As a team, the Owls placed fifth at the A-Sun Championship.

CROSS COUNTRY…The women’s cross country team produced the best year in program history as the Owls finished second at the A-Sun Championship and 14th at the NCAA South Regional. Senior Raynell Hagberg was named All-Conference after her ninth- place finish at the A-Sun meet while Trisha Doyle was named to the All-Freshmen team. The men’s team, with four freshman runners, placed eighth at the A-Sun Championship.

FOOTBALL…FAU completed yet another exceptional season under head coach Howard Schnellenberger. Over two dozen seniors signified the end of the program’s inaugural recruiting class. The Owls’ success, in their fourth year as a program, included a road upset of Hawaii to start the season. The team’s 20 combined wins in 2003 and 2004 tied Miami (FL) for tops in Florida.

MEN’S SOCCER…The Owls had their best season ever, sharing their first regular season A-Sun Championship. FAU led the nation in goals per game. Bjorn Totland was named A-Sun Player-of-the-Year, the second consecutive season the honor went to an Owl. Five others received All-Conference honors.

20 WOMEN’S TENNIS … For the second time in three years, FAU captured the A-Sun Championship in 2005. Alena Dvorakova ended her four-year career as the A-Sun Player-of- the-Year and the all-time winningest singles and doubles player in FAU history.

WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD…FAU continued its success of recent years in 2005 by finishing third at the A-Sun Championship, the third consecutive time the Owls have claimed a top-three finish. Sophomore Yanique Booth (100m hurdles), junior Marilyn Stephens (400m) and both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams qualified for the NCAA East Regional, a program high, while seven Owls received All-Conference honors.

VOLLEYBALL…The Owls raced through the A-Sun on their way to the regular season championship. The team posted its best record in its 12 seasons in Division I and will return the reigning A-Sun Player-of-the-Year in 2005.

SOFTBALL…The Owls are the A-Sun’s most successful program ever. Since its inaugural season of 1995, FAU has won a record eight conference championships. FAU has also appeared in six NCAA Tournaments, also an A-Sun record. Head coach Joan Joyce has won 510 games as FAU’s only head coach.

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SWIMMING…In their first season as members of the Sun Belt Conference, both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams made immediate statements as both finished third at the Sun Belt Championship. The men's 200 medley relay broke the school record at the championship, and the teams picked up five first-place finishes.
