Raels has joined us now and she is doing the membership side of things and is doing a great job at that. She also has some fresh ideas to contribute to the club. We welcome her. I had to do a quick trip to Toowoomba in August. I’d never been there before but really loved the fact that they have a radio station which has country music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I wish we did in Adelaide. If we do, I don’t know about it. It won’t be long until Christmas is upon us. I’m looking forward to the Gospel Concert before the main entertainment at our Christmas show (December 2nd). Sad to see that Tammy Latham has resigned from SACCM, but I’m sure she will excel in her studies with Uni SA. Hopefully we will see her sometime or other at our Club if there is any spare time! She is always very welcome. We truly wish her all the best for her future. Enjoy reading the rest of your newsletter. Ian Fisk (the flasher) always does a very good job as Publicity Officer and Editor of our newsletter (well I think so anyway). The band of the month was the Creole cowboyZ. After a wobbly start with their sound equipment they got the music swinging along and the dance floor full of happy dancers. It is also pleasing to see happy faces on non-dancing people. I like the band’s happy faces and being willing to please. They sent their apologies for the bad start. Walk-up Steve Liley always performs well and also Steve Tripodi sings good country songs. Bye for now. Walk-ups Steve Liley, Steve Tripodi and Tiffney Stroh (who had recently became the South Australian Council for Country Music Senior Champion of Champions) Sept 2007 Entertainment Report It was Fathers’ Day and I hope all had a good day. The band of the month was Midnight Mountain Blue. They always perform a nice range of country music. The dance floor was always full. The guest artist for the day, Kristal Collins, was excellent, a lovely young lady who will be forever popular and go a long way. Along came a newcomer Eliza Parker, about 8 years old, I would think. She sang a couple of Slim Dusty songs. A surprise appearance was Ian List who also sang a couple of songs for us. It was another good day. A special thanks to the band for asking Kristal to finish the show with them. Bye for Now, Lorraine Page 3 October Show:- Midnight Special The Midnight Special Band play 60/40 and country.
