Ice cream soda, cherry on the top, Who’s you best friend? I forgot. Is it A, B, C, D Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum, In a dishes, how many pieces, Do you wish, 1, 2, 3, 3 Day 1- Music As a family play the singing game Charlie over the ocean, I am attaching a link to the story we listened to in class. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcBEHIdQf1w I will be on dojo singing the song to help you remember it ! This is a call and response song the first person sings and the others in the group echo or copy what they sing. You will be great at teaching your family how to sing the song! "Charlie Over the Ocean" Solo Group Charlie over the ocean, Charlie over the ocean, Charlie over the sea, Charlie over the sea, Charlie caught a ______, Charlie caught a ____, Can't catch me. Can't catch me. Directions: Students form a standing circle facing the middle (arms length apart) with one student out. With a steady beat* one student begins walking around the outside of the circle singing the solo, echoed by the group. When the song ends, the walking student chooses (taps) the student they are walking behind. Racing around the circle, should the chosen student tag the first student before they reach the opening in the circle, they win their place back and the song is sung again. If not, they become the new soloist 4 Day 2 P.E Speedy Sun Relay Race K-2 This activity is a good way to help us remember to dress Sun Wise. The objective is for one child to model wearing sun wise clothing. They put on the clothing brought to them as quickly as they can. This child is the Model. A second child runs to a pile of clothing and picks out one item of the sun wise clothing. They run back and give this choice to the model to put on. This continues with another child running to the pile and picking out the next item and running it back to the model to put on. Keep this going until the model has all the clothing on. Children take as many turns as needed to get all of the clothing to the model. After the model is dressed completely check to see how well they did dressing Sun Wise. If there is enough children divide them up into different teams and make it a race to see which team can get their model dressed first. 5 Items needed: Sun Wise Clothing Long-sleeved shirts, Long Pants, Hats, Sunglasses, Shoes, empty bottle of sunscreen, or maybe just a picture of sunscreen. Non Sun Wise Clothing Tank Top, T-shirt, Shorts, Sandals, swimming suit 6 Day 2- Art Lines of All Kinds Students will learn about lines as they create a colorful picture using a variety of lines. What You Do When you are finished I would love to see your work. ClassDojo me Talk to your child about the different kinds of lines – straight, angled, curly, etc. (see diagram above) Introduce the words horizontal (when a line runs side to side, like the horizon), vertical (when a line runs up and down, standing tall) and diagonal (when a line runs on an angle, think of the plane wings.) You can use crayons, markers, colored pencils, or paint if you have them. 7 Have the students draw different types of lines on their papers using the material of their choice.Ask someone to say out loud the type of line and the direction to draw the line. When each line is complete, change to a new color to get ready for the next line. Once the lines have been drawn, children fill in the spaces between the lines using brightly colored tempera paints. You can complete this masterpiece in two days if you need too. 8 Day 3- Music Freeze Game. How do you play Freeze Dance? Playing Freeze Dance everyone to play safely by having everyone spread out to prevent injuries. Start your favorite music. After starting the music, during this time everyone has to dance and move. Have someone Stop the music. When the music stops everyone has to freeze. Repeat until the music is over. Then select a new song and person to stop the music and play it over again. I have included a different way to play the game if you want a variety. Called Freeze Dance #2 When the music stops, dancers have 5 (or 3) seconds to shape their bodies into an interesting frozen pose—rather than the traditional version in which you freeze right where you were when the music stopped. FREEZE DANCE #2 Statue Garden; put the music on and when it stops. the freeze dancers become the statues. While the music is playing and the gardener is “not paying attention,” the statues come alive and dance. When the music stops the gardener wonders, “did some of my statues move ... Gardner tries to find statues who move. Have fun and send me a link on dojo of you playing the games 9 Day 3- Art 10 11 Day 4- P.E Part of Nutrition is to eat healthy food. Is the strongest feeling pride at seeing your child adored by a delirious crowd? Does renown and money in the end salve the disappointment of having a teenager drop out of school to mistreat a guitar or drum kit in a seedy club? In the book that has emerged from those conversations, From Cradle to Stage, Dave Grohl — or David, as his mum steadfastly calls him — recalls a moment when music took over his life. Without realising it … I was harmonising! My heart lit up … Hell, this was the chicken AND the egg! He did some devilish things, but I never thought of him as bad. By this time, he was learning to play drums in his bedroom, using a chair as the high-hat, and a pillow on the floor as the snare; and was easily picking up songs on his guitar. The high-school band he was playing in had the awful name of Dain Bramage. Then Dave, a ferocious drummer, was asked by the punk band Scream to join them on a tour of Europe. Not many people make it in the music business. They changed the course of popular music … my son had become a rock star! When I came back, the class gave me a roar.
