MotorLand Aragon will now host the opening Round of the 2021 calendar from the 21st to the 23rd of May, due to the postponement of the Estoril Round, initially scheduled to be held from the 7th to 9th of May. All parties involved are working hard to confirm a new date for the event. With the Supported Test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya taking place in less than a month, the FIM and Dorna WSBK Organization are constantly working with Government Officials and Circuits in order to continue putting everyone’s safety first.

  • PRESS RELEASE 2020 FIM Sidecar Motocross World Championship
PRESS RELEASE MIES, 03/06/2020 FOR MORE INFORMATION: ISABELLE LARIVIÈRE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER [email protected] TEL +41 22 950 95 68 2020 FIM Sidecar Motocross World Championship cancelled The FIM and the promoter Apo Multimedia regret to announce the cancellation of the 2020 FIM Sidecar Motocross World Championship. In making this difficult decision, careful consideration was given to the fact that a vast majority of the events on the 2020 calendar had already been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic and that there is no guarantee that it even would be possible to run the few remaining events still scheduled on the calendar. Rather than wait and leave everybody in uncertainty, both parties agreed to focus on 2021 and to start preparing for the next season. Whilst such decisions are always disappointing, especially for the riders, the FIM and Apo Multimedia will continue to work together to ensure a strong championship in 2021 so as to provide a positive focus for all parties, whom they would like to thank for their kind understanding and support during this challenging period. Mr Martin Bena, CEO Apo Multimedia said: "Our amazing sport depends on spectator support track-side, both for the atmosphere, and as a revenue stream. Without a guaranteed number of spectators through the gates, the risks for organisers in financial terms are high, and therefore it is unfair to ask them to put their necks on the line in these uncertain times.” “From a rider perspective, with the differing rules in place from country to country, there is also an unfair training and practice situation, so certain teams will be more prepared than others.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the FIM (www.fim-live.com): The FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) founded in 1904, is the governing body for motorcycle sport and the global advocate for motorcycling.

  • Motorcycles Registered in the United States, 2002–18
Motorcycles registered in the United States, 2002–18 January 2019 Eric R. Teoh Insurance Institute for Highway Safety The following tables summarize the U.S. motorcycle population between 2002 and 2018, based on Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) analyses of data provided by IHS Markit. Registration counts as of January 1 of each year were provided by year, state, and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) pattern (first 10 digits). The Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) decoded VIN patterns to determine make, series, and model year, and information maintained by HLDI on motorcycle type and antilock braking system (ABS) availability were appended to each record by make/series/model year. Only on- road classes of motorcycles were included. Since the VIN information is constantly improving, the counts in this paper may differ slightly from the previous version. Selected observations • The number of on-road motorcycles registered in the U.S. has been generally increasing throughout these years, doubling from 4.2 million in 2002 to 8.3 million in 2018 (Table 1). Registrations declined from 2017 to 2018 to slightly below the 2015 number. • California and Florida have the largest number of registered motorcycles by large margins. • Cruisers and touring bikes are the largest classes of registered motorcycles (Table 2). • Choppers are a relatively new class designation from manufacturers. This class probably is undercounted, as similar motorcycles are custom builds and not identifiable from VIN numbers. • Scooter registrations have been increasing but also may be undercounted, as many have engines smaller than 50 cubic centimeters (cc) and state laws (including registration requirements) vary widely for vehicles with such small engines.

October1, 2015 Volume 13 — Issue 50 rights ✪ riding ✪ racing Hayward MC Go’s “Old School” On the Cowbell Enduro By Cliff Streib We hear from many riders that they would like to try a standard format (time & distance) Enduro, but don't want to have to buy a computer in order to ride the event and be com- petitive. So, our solution is to have two "Old School" classes run af- ter the standard "A, B, & C" classes. The classes will be run just as an Enduro would have been done in the days before computers. You go on the course with a watch, a route chart ("JART" charts OK), and some form of odometer, but NO com- puters allowed!! It will be run on the exact same course as the A,B,&C classes. The two "Old School" classes will run just after the "C" class. The two classes will be "0 to 240cc" and "241ccs News & UP". Riders riding the "Old School" classes will not be scored for the year end awards in District 36. This is just so riders can get out and experience what an enduro is all about! Riders will get Finisher Pins upon finishing the course to show that the rode the whole course. All standard Enduro rules and scoring will apply. The bikes must pass a "Tech" inspec- tion & Sound check. The Rider will need to pay an entry fee plus have valid AMA & Dis- 36 trict 36 cards (Both one day OR one year cards will be available at the sigh-ups).
