CUMULATIVE WEIGHTED & UNWEIGHTED AVERAGE Cumulative weighted and unweighted averages are determined by calculating all credit bearing courses with the exception of Physical Education, 7th Grade Foreign Language, and any other course that is graded with a Pass/Fail. The unit value of a course is multiplied by the numeric grade to determine the cumulative grade. Those cumulative grades are then added together and divided by the number of potential credits to formulate the weighted and unweighted averages respectively. The weighted average will be used in the college application process. A seven semester weighted and unweighted cumulative average will be recalculated for each student. A final weighted and unweighted average will be calculated at the end of eight semesters and will be recorded on the student’s final transcript.
