Germany forward Mario Gomez scored for the second match running to help Fiorentina beat Chievo 3-1 and AC Milan’s crisis deepened when they lost 4-2 at home to Parma after playing for almost the entire match with 10 men. Lazio eased their problems with a 2-0 win at Cagliari, Livorno’s 2-1 win over Bologna pulled them out of the relegation zone and Sassuolo came from behind to beat Catania 3-1 in the meeting of the bot- tom two. Juventus forward Pablo Daniel Osvaldo had two first-half goals disallowed for offside with television replays suggest- ing that the first decision was correct and the second was not. Buffon, equalling Dino Zoff’s record of 476 Juventus appearances, rescued the visi- tors when he saved Emanuele Calaio’s penalty in the 72nd minute after a handball by Arturo Vidal. • Madrid Close In
PREVIEW ISSUE FOUR – 24TH APRIL 2012 MADRID CLOSE IN REAL TAKE THE SPOILS IN THE EL CLASICO AND CLOSE IN ON THE SILVERWARE After a poor week for both sides in Europe, Real and Barca were desperate to grab a win against their biggest rivals on a dramatic, rain-lashed Saturday night at the Nou Camp. It was Real that grabbed the vital win and probably clinched the La Liga title. Los Merengues went ahead through German midfielders Sami Khedira and were comfortable for long periods, but Barca’s Chilean substitute Alexis Sánchez equalised with just 20 minutes remaining. Cristiano Ronaldo’s clinical strike just three minutes later settled the game with Madrid now seven points clear, with only four games remaining. Madrid coach José Mourinho named an very attacking team and his side began the better. Ronaldo’s early header from a corner brought a superb flying save from goalkeeper Víctor Valdés. His opposite number Iker Casillas was then quickly off his line when full-back Dani Alves dispossessed Sergio Ramos. The game was being played at a fearsome pace and French striker Karim Benzema brought the best out of Valdés again. Barca thought they had gone front when Alves had the ball in the net after a Cristian Tello run, but the youngster had been flagged offside. • Genoa-Siena: I Rossoblù Se La Cavano Con Una Multa, a Sculli Un Mese Di Squalifica Di Mattia Brighenti 09 Ottobre 2012 – 14:52

FC Barcelona v AC Milan MATCH PRESS KIT Camp Nou, Barcelona Wednesday, 26 April 2006 - 20:45 CET Semi-finals - Matchday 12 Although home defeats in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds are not especially rare, an overall victory by the losing team is an unusual commodity. For AC Milan to overcome the odds - and FC Barcelona - and reach the final for the second successive season, they have to do what no side has managed since AFC Ajax ten years ago. Odds against Milan · In 14 seasons of the UEFA Champions League, Ajax©s achievement in recovering from a 1-0 reverse at home to Panathinaikos FC in the 1995/96 semi-finals to win 3-0 in Athens stands alone. · Such is the task facing last year©s runners-up after Ludovic Giuly©s second-half strike sparked Barcelona celebrations at San Siro last week. Now, in their 100th UEFA Champions League match, the Spanish team will be hoping to book a place in the 17 May final in Paris. It would be only their second in the competition since its revamp for the 1992/93 campaign. Unbeaten runs · Barcelona©s triumph in Milan maintained their impressive away record in this season©s tournament, Frank Rijkaard©s men recording four wins and two draws in six fixtures so far. They have conceded just once in those outings and that was an own goal by Thiago Motta in the last-16 first leg at Chelsea FC. · Barça©s confidence will be further boosted by their unbeaten run at the Camp Nou.
