Thinking of Teaching? Thinking of teaching? School Experience Days 2018-2019 Trent Valley Teaching School Alliance (TVTSA) works with many of its partner schools to offer School Experience Days, in both secondary and primary settings. These events are run through the School Experience Programme (SEP). For more information about TVTSA, please email [email protected] School Experience Days Involve: Observations of lessons within relevant departments in school A discussion with current trainees or mentors Opportunities to discuss routes into teaching, School Direct and PGCE Information on the teacher training places available in the schools A chance to see if teaching is for you These may also lead to and additional two experience days in the school; many open day candidates then apply to train to teach within the schools they visit. You will receive an agenda a week before the event from the school you have applied to. To book a place at a TVTSA open day, please register with the teaching agency, then follow this link to make a booking: School Experience day booking The data that is visible to TVTSA when you apply to the school experience programme will be visible only to TVTSA school ITT coordinators, and will only be used to contact you in the context of organising the school experience day and further experience days. TVTSA have a commitment to safeguarding pupils, therefore you will need to bring photo ID to the school experience day, and will be with a member of the school staff throughout the day. Why train to teach with the TVTSA? You choose the school you would like to train in, and are interviewed at that school There is opportunity for you to visit the school before you start your training You get the opportunity to meet other trainees in your school, and on the course, at our pizza night and induction day, which run in May and July You will be supported by a core team who are quick to act and have the skills to guide and support you through your training year Thinking of teaching?
