JEREMY MOSS CHAIR **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 14, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 12:00 noon, in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Testimony regarding SB 173 (Sen. Stamas). 3. Testimony regarding SB 19 (Sen. Zorn). The Chairman called the meeting to order at 12:12 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s), Johnson, Daley, Alexander, and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson, Daley, Alexander, and Moss Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chairman invited Sen. Stamas and Josh Clayton, of the Michigan Towing Association, to summarize SB 173. The Chairman invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 173: Judy Allen, Michigan Townships Association – Neutral Charlie Owens, National Federation of Independent Business – Support Jen Rigterink, Michigan Municipal League – Support The Chairman invited Shane Preston, of the Chairman's Office, and Judy Allen, of the Michigan Townships Association, to summarize SB 19.
