COUNTY COUNCIL (STAGE 3 OVO ENERGY WOMEN`S TOUR OF GREAT BRITAIN CYCLING) (SPECIAL EVENT) ORDER 2019 Order to be made: 3 June 2019 Date of Event: 12 June 2019 NOTICE is hereby given that on 3 June 2019 Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order, which will have effect on 12 June is to facilitate the holding of Stage 3 of the national cycling event on Wednesday 12 June, which is promoted by Andy Hawes, Route Director, SweetSpot Group Ltd, 1 Horizon Business Village, 1 Brooklands Road, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0TJ. The Council is satisfied that it is not practicable for the event to be conducted off- road. The cycle event will commence in Henley approx.10.30am to its conclusion in Woodstock approx. 3.30pm. Henley centre will be restricted from 4am to enable closures, set-up, staging, media etc. There will be various road restrictions at the start point in Henley town centre involving closures, prohibitions of waiting, disabled person parking and loading, and imposing one- way traffic. Vehicles left in the no waiting zones may be removed. Local diversions and appropriate information signs will be used to indicate the route. The competitors will pass through South and West Oxfordshire from Henley via Watlington, Common, Wallingford, , Wantage, Faringdon, Carterton, Burford, and Charlbury to Woodstock to terminate at Blenheim Palace and will consist of up to 96 competitors with various support vehicles, and unknown numbers of spectators. Roads closed in Henley between 4am and 1pm - West Street (east of Kings Road junction) and Market Place. One-way traffic will operate in Kings Road northwards only from West Street to Waitrose Car Park. Rolling Road Convoys will be used from approx 10am at the start area under control of Police and route marshals for the safety of competitors and other road users. This means traffic will be held for short periods of time throughout the route to allow unimpeded progress for the cyclists.
