He was born and raised in Denton. When he graduated from Texas A&M, he knew he wanted to coach. Getting started “I kind of felt relieved when we opened the school for the first time,” said Flemming. The Chargers played a sophomore and a freshman season in most of the sports … no varsity yet.” Flemming said the won-loss records for 2016 were 3-7 on the junior varsity team and 2-8 on the freshman team. “We were more focused on the process than wins and losses,” he said. This year, the Fulshear junior varsity team has 66 players signed up; 50 are signed up for freshman football. Flemming: “We pretty much played anybody we could pick up for our schedule, not just Lamar CISD schools. We played teams from all over.” For those not familiar with scheduling, it can be a grueling, frustrating job, especially when you don’t have a varsity program. Usually when a coach schedules a game with another school’s varsity team, it will include games for the junior varsity and freshman teams, as well. “We don’t have a varsity team yet, and it was hard to get games,” explained Flemming. Many phone calls, texts and emails are involved, taking up a large amount of time. Coach Oschlor Flemming has had to build his athletic program from scratch. “We got a game with George Ranch because they were playing Nuevo Leon High School,” he said. “Nuevo Leon didn’t have JV and teams didn’t have a game, so we scheduled them.” freshmen teams. Another week Lamar Consolidated freshmen and JV George Ranch and Lamar Consolidated are both again on Fulshear’s 2017 schedule, plus a couple of private school varsity teams. “I want our kids to get a Friday night feel,” said the coach “Playing a varsity opponent is getting a true evaluation of where we are.” The Chargers will play The Village School and Lutheran South Academy, both TAPPS teams at their home fields. Flemming thinks that the Chargers might dip their toes into varsity football come 2018, probably at the 4A level. UIL determines classification on enrollment. Fulshear should have about 650 students enrolled in 2017. In 2018, the enrollment will be a little less than a 1,000. “I’m hoping that we will be evenly matched with some of our other varsity opponents.” Salman Aly, MD Sarfraz Aly, MD Write the code PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN INFECTIOUS DISEASE SPECIALIST “Everything we do is setting the tone for the rest of the time, • Board Certified in Internal forever,” said Flemming. “There is no place where we can look at to Medicine • Board Certified in Infectious • Experienced in Geriatric and Diseases and Internal Medicine Continued on page 10 Hospital Medicine • Hyperbaric & Advanced • Botox, Dermal Fillers, Wound Care Low T Syndrome • Travel Medicine • Hyperbaric & Advanced King Auto SAleS Wound Care For appointments call: For appointments call: 832-886-4774 832-886-4994 Now Accepting New Patients At Both Locations In Sugar Land And Wharton Home of Crazy Mike! We do a good job of training the athletes, teaching discipline and character. The kids are going to grow quite a bit coming through our program. “When you are doing things right on a daily basis, playing and training at a high level, the wins and losses take care of themselves. Each concert features a quality live music performance, and a suggested donation of $20 - $30 per person goes entirely to the musician(s) to help support their art. House concerts have become a primary source of sustainability for many musicians in today’s changing digital music environment. Fulshear House Concerts is a laid back venue — shows are held in our family room with the furniture cleared out the day of the show. Doors open ½ hour before each show for us to socialize, share food, mingle with the artist. Address and food details are shared with committed attendees prior to each show, and food is pot-luck — bring a dish to share and we’ll provide a chair. There are two 45 minutes sets while we are in “listening room” mode for the performance, and there’s a break in the middle to refresh beverages, use restrooms, reconnect with artist or buy cd’s and other merchandise.
