Duke Renewables – Frontier Windpower II

Kay County, Oklahoma

Duke Energy Renewables, a commercial business unit of Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK), announced full mobilization for construction of Frontier Windpower II in Kay County, Oklahoma on July 24, 2019. The project will be fully operational by December 2020.

Frontier Windpower II project details: • customers* – AT&T and Ball Corporation • Total project megawatts – 350 • Number of turbines – 74 4.8-MW Nordex wind turbines • Power – project will produce enough energy to power approximately 123,000 average homes • Job creation – approximately 250 jobs during peak construction • Landowner participation – approximately 50 landowners covering over 12,000 acres • Local benefits –Significant tax payments to the local schools and county plus meaningful landowner lease payments during operations

AT&T ’s Investment in the Frontier Windpower II Project

Through a 15-year virtual power purchase agreement for a portion of the energy generated by the Frontier II project, AT&T’s investment equates to:

• 160 megawatts of wind energy • Over 33 wind turbines

• Over 110 construction jobs during peak construction
