Our story began with just 10 bedrooms in our original location on Jefferson Street and today we care for 30 families each night at our House in the San Marco neighborhood. The care and compassion families receive is made possible by generous donors, dedicated volunteers and committed staff members. We are grateful for the support from the community that allows us to give the gift of togetherness to families when they need it most. Each day we see the comfort that a child feels from having their loved ones close by during their illness or injury. By supporting our mission, you help to provide the comforts of home and to create special moments for our families. 2013 ANNUAL REPORT OUR MISSION OUR Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Jacksonville supports the health and well-being of children by providing lodging and other services for critically ill, chronically ill and seriously injured children and their families. OUR PROGRAMS The House provides lodging, dinner meal program, transportation and support to parents and siblings during their stay. We even have a fulltime trained facility dog, Reed, who provides loving therapy and comfort to the families. The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Wolfson Children’s Hospital is staffed by volunteers who offer snacks, smiles, entertainment and a listening ear.
