The early notebooks (1945-1962) consist by and large of ideas for stories and plays, the later notebooks (1962-1987) increasingly consist of ideas that develop certain philosophical, psychological, and religious concerns central to Fredericks's thought but also continue to contain ideas for stories and plays. The seeds of many of the ideas that motivated Fredericks's teaching at Bennington are found here. A section from the notebook written in 1975 was published in 1979 in Parenthèse (Volume 2, Numbers 3 & 4). box 8 Early Notebooks 1-10, 5 September 1945 - 7 December 1962 box 8 (1) 5 October 1945 - 9 March 1946 Finding aid for the Claude 900230B 4 Fredericks papers, circa 1850-1988 (bulk 1941-1988) Series I.Writings, 1933-1988 box 8 (2) 16 January 1947 - October 1947 box 8 (3) 18 July 1950 - July 1952 box 8 (4) 18 June 1954 - 11 September 1954 box 8 (5) 12 September 1954 - 9 December 1954 box 8 (6) 20 November 1955 - 7 November 1956 box 8 (7) 10 January 1957 - 12 November 1958 box 8 (8) 16 December 1959 - 28 December 1960 box 8 (9) 17 April 1961 - 27 August 1962 box 8 (10) 23 August 1962 - 7 December 1962 box 9 Notebooks 1-26, 8 December 1962 - 6 July 1987 box 9 (1) 8 December 1962 - 1 February 1963 box 9 (2) 3 February 1963 - 28 August 1963 box 9 (3) 19 December 1963 - 10 April 1964 box 9 (4) 23 April 1964 - 24 May 1965 box 9 (5) 7 June 1965 - 3 February 1966 box 9 (6) 19 February 1966 - 12 August 1966 box 9 (7) 23 December 1966 - 16 July 1967 box 9 (8) 2 August 1967 - 4 January 1968 box 9 (9) 24 April 1968 - 28 February 1970 box 9 (10) 2 April 1970 - 1 February 1972 box 9 (11) 5 February 1972 - 2 August 1972 box 9 (12) 2 August 1972 - 6 December 1972 box 9 (13) 8 December 1972 - 25 March 1973 box 9 (14) 31 March 1973 - 25 July 1973 box 9 (15) 6 August 1973 - 30 October 1973 box 9 (16) 4 November 1973 - 2 December 1973 box 9 (17) 7 December 1973 - 20 February 1974 box 9 (18) 21 February 1974 - 2 April 1974 box 9 (19) 7 April 1974 - 2 May 1974 box 9 (20) 6 July 1974 - 28 October 1974 box 9 (21) 5 December 1974 - 2 February 1975 box 9 (22) 23 December 1975 - 26 February 1976 box 9 (23) 28 March 1976 - 27 August 1976 box 9 (24) 19 September 1976 - 3 December 1976 box 9 (25) 4 January 1977 - 17 February 1980 box 9 (26) 18 February 1980 - 6 July 1987 box 10 Poems, 1939-1971 box 10 1939-1942 Physical Description: 3 vols box 10 1970-1971 Physical Description: 1 vol box 10 Complete Poems 1940-1957 Physical Description: 1 vol box 11 Complete Poems, 1958-1988 box 11 1958-1968 Physical Description: 1 vol box 11 1969-1988 Physical Description: 1 vol Finding aid for the Claude 900230B 5 Fredericks papers, circa 1850-1988 (bulk 1941-1988) Series II.Teaching, 1961-1988 Series II.A.Lecture notes, 1961-1988 Series II.
