Organizational Guide AN INVITATION TO KANSAS Dear Friend: We need a revival in America. In fact, we need a profound reset – a spiritual awakening that jolts our moral sensibilities and calls the nation back to God. I know of only one thing that could trigger such a phenomenon, that would make God the talk of our towns. And that is prayer. Desperate prayer. Humble, united prayer. Prayer that declares that we are out of options, out of ideas, and weary of new programs. Prayer that signals to heaven both our faith and holy desperation. I am inviting you to America’s Prayer Meeting. This will be a national prayer congress, a gathering of nobodies in the world’s eyes. No big names. No titles. Ordinary believers who are hungry for revival. We are meeting to ‘appeal to heaven’ on the basis of an ancient prayer covenant. It was one offered to God by our first settlers in 1607 at Jamestown. With the spiritual authority granted to us in the name of Jesus Christ – the all authority of his name and office, and as a humble, but royal, kingly priesthood, we will gather to cry out to God. We’re not going to Washington. Nor to a resort location. We’re starting where John and Jesus started – in the wilderness. No Walmart. No motels. No restaurants. Just north of Lebanon, KS is the geographic center of the US. And at the heart of the nation, we will appeal to God, “Have mercy on us. For your name’s sake, for your purposes – send a great awakening. Ignite a revival with a global harvest in view.” Plan to come to Lebanon – and don’t come alone. Take the back roads. Make the trip a prayer pilgrimage across the nation. Stop here and there – and pray. Pour out oil and wine, salt and water, symbols of grace and redemption, of healing, covenant and of the Spirit. Plant ‘Appeal to Heaven’ flags. Contact friends along the way and have them join you in prayer. Don’t attend an event, become a prayer missionary. God will honor our prayers – and if you will build invisible altars, a chain of them between your home and Lebanon, he will not forget. Who knows – maybe the fire will fall on one of the spots where you and your friends meet God and plead before heaven for a spiritual awakening. More than another event, we need a movement of hope and prayer. A kingdom of passionate priestly intercessors. In Kansas, we will offer on an altar the names of loved ones, states and cities through which the prayer teams passed – and we will pray for the nation’s greatest harvest ever. We will pray for a tithe of the nation, for 30 million first-time conversions, for 21 million legal immigrants here in the USA who have never heard the gospel, not clearly, not in a compelling manner. We will pray for Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Sheiks, Animists, and a collage of other religions. We will pray for the church to awaken. Sign up to get a daily update and prayer guide at americasprayermeeting.org. Join a daily prayer call – 518-318- 7117. Call the HOPE line for personal prayer – 855-514-4673 (8555 1 4HOPE). Most of all – come to Kansas. Let’s meet at the center and then pray to the edges! We will not stop until the nation is experiencing a great awakening. See You in Kansas, P. ORGANIZATIONAL GUIDE All Rights Reserved www.americaspraymeeting.org America’s Prayer Meeting Movement – A Movement of Hope! 7 Pray America – Pray! Organizational Guide PRAY AMERICA – PRAY! n September 11, 2001, America was shaken by a series of surprise terrorist attacks. All of us were awakened to the new reality of global terrorism. In 2008, the entire globe faced an economic meltdown. Then, in March 2020, Covid19 O placed the earth in virtual lockdown and quarantine. International travel was halted. Churches, schools, and public shopping centers closed, as did restaurants and entertainment centers. Everyone went virtual. These three traumatizing events seem to constitute a wake-up call, not only to the church but also to the world’s nations. And yet, repentance and a wholesale return to God have not occurred. Quite the opposite is now happening in the USA. Anger has intensified. Courtesy of Deccan Chronicle Division has deepened. Our inner cities will bear the scars of the violence of 2020 for years, maybe decades. Our government has demonstrated an appetite for intense control – even over our sanctuaries and medical options. Approximately half of our churches remain closed, and those that are open are drawing less than 60 percent of PreCovid19 crowds. Our world has changed. The estimated impact of Covid19 on marriages, the escalation in spousal and child abuse is still being calculated. A generation of kids is destined to play catch-up with their education, perhaps for a decade. Our nation needs a profound spiritual awakening beginning with the church – one which only heaven can send. Our spiritual condition is critical. We are in desperate need of a fresh national spiritual awakening. Our national debt is staggering. Church credibility and cultural impact are in precipitous decline. With its massive numbers of immigrants and the disconnect of Millennials and Gen Z from traditional congregations, America is the third largest mission field in the world. An entire generation has grown up with little understanding of absolute truth. Nine states are approaching the criteria necessary to be classified as Unreached People Groups according to missiological standards – here in America! The historical patterns of America’s Great Awakenings indicate that it is in precisely this type of seemingly hopeless national environment that God chooses to move in response to the cries of His people. Historically, when the people of God have set aside their differences to come together across this nation in extraordinary, united prayer, God has heard from heaven and responded with a great outpouring of His Spirit. In response to our nation’s need and God’s Biblical and historical pattern for bringing awakening to America, should we not engage in extraordinary, united prayer? . PRAY AMERICA – PRAY! – On July 4, the 245th birthday of the nation, we are asking churches and Christians of all denominations to join in “Pray, America, Pray” – a national, virtual prayer meeting for the nation.
