Playing Nice in the Sandbox Date: Monday, September 16 Time: 6:00 pm Location: Elementary School Commons Register for Class # P216 Fee: $15.00/person Do you sometimes feel discouraged or burned-out in your work as a teacher, child care provider or stay at home parent? Sometimes you don’t have another adult you can talk to, or the person you can talk to sees things differently and that frustrates you even more? We can’t change or control anyone else or many of the situations we find ourselves in, so let’s focus on what we CAN DO to help improve situations and to be a positive influence on others. This presentation will start by reviewing skills and strategies to help you face your challenges and conflicts. Then, because you’re in the people business, skills will be covered that help you “flex your own style” to deal with the many differences you encounter every day. For those who work with a team of others, there are techniques to learn that can help improve teamwork. Many of the communication and relationship techniques learned at class will be useful beyond your work role; they work in pretty much any relationship! “Playing Nice in the Sandbox” has been well received coast to coast by those who have or work with young children. Rock County Daycare Association and Community Education are excited to offer the presentation here in Luverne. Kim Ratz, with over 20 years experience as a Community Education director in Oregon, Alaska and Minnesota, is widely recognized for his leadership in promoting lifelong learning and community involvement in schools. People enjoy his songs, stories, and how he inspires you to have hope, improve your skills to cope, be well, and have some fun too!
