Inte minst musikindustrin kantas av könsstereotyper som gör sig synliga i allt från låttexter till musikvideor. Men mycket lite tycks vara skrivet om hur artister framställs på sina skivomslag med könsstereotyper som utgångspunkt. Syftet med föreliggande studie var därför att analysera och jämföra skivomslag för kvinnliga och manliga artister för att identifiera vad som skiljer dem åt, med vikt på vilka könsstereotyper som förekommer. Syftet var även att se om någon förändring har skett med tiden vad gäller utformningen av skivomslag samt undersöka hur eventuella könsstereotyper tar sig uttryck i olika kulturer och genrer. En visuell innehållsanalys gjordes på 100 skivomslag, hälften utgivna 2006/2007 och andra hälften utgivna 2016/2017. Hälften av omslagen från varje år var för kvinnliga respektive manliga artister. Resultatet visade att en del av de könsstereotyper som är vanliga vid fotograferandet av män och kvinnor även förekom på skivomslag. Men på en del punkter frångick omslagen traditionella könsstereotyper. Resultatet visade även att förekomsten av stereotyper har förändrats en del under tioårsperioden. En del skillnader kunde också identifieras vid en jämförelse av amerikanska och svenska artister, samt vid en jämförelse av olika genrer. Slutsatserna som kunde dras utifrån studiens resultat var att det finns skillnader i hur manliga och kvinnliga artister porträtteras på sina skivomslag. Men skivomslagsbilder avviker en del från de stereotyper som gör sig synliga i andra sammanhang när män och kvinnor fotograferas. The music industry is not an exception and stereotypes can be seen and heard in everything from lyrics to music videos. However, very little seems to be written about gender stereotypes on album covers. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze and compare how album covers for female and male artists differ, with focus on gender stereotypes. The purpose was also to examine whether a change over time have occurred when it comes to gender stereotypes present on album covers. Additionally, this study examined how gender stereotypes takes form in different cultures and genres. A visual analyze were made on 100 album covers. Half of them were released in 2006/2007 and the other half was released in 2016/2017. The number of male and female artist were equally divided across the different years. The result showed that some of the gender stereotypes that normally occur when males and females are photographed, also occurred on album covers. Other gender stereotypes were uncommon on album covers. Some changes could be seen over the ten-year period. Moreover, the result showed some differences when comparing Swedish and American artists’ album covers, and when comparing different genres. The conclusions that could be drawn from the result was that there are differences in how male and female artists are portrayed on their album covers. However, album cover pictures differ to a certain extent from how males and females are photographed in other situations. In the morning, we’d make banana pancakes doused in maple syrup, lumpy and sticky sweet. Hearing that song was a revelation. It was transcendent. Maybe it was all the Jack and Cokes. But maybe it wasn’t. At fifteen, I thought I knew heartbreak, if only vicariously: I’d read books, seen movies, and listened to songs like “Samson.” My aching, teenage heart would shatter anew with each fictional iteration of something I had yet to experience myself. This hurt, this pain— I thought it was the real thing. Or, at least, I thought it could compare. “What is this?” I asked her once the song finished.

Helmut Thielicke AUTOBIOGRAPHY; In 1976 an extremely modest chapbook of poetry was published titled 'The Halcyon Poems.' In 1996, 'Snippets of His Glory While I Wait' a second chapbook was produced. A third chapbook is planned which will be influenced by reader feed back and also a writers critique group that meets at Gemini Ink, a writer's cooperative in San Antonio, Texas. The projected title is: 'Poems Twice Read on the World Wide Web' and the full title page will add the phrase: 'and other confessions of an agora poet.' In seminary Bob Leslie was the professor I studied with more than any other. Robert C. Leslie published 'Jesus and Logotherapy.' This work came out of his year of study with Victor Frankl. The word 'noetic' has come to me out of these influences. Frankl understood the word 'noetic' to mean the spiritual but a spirituality that is not religiously based. I hope that some of the poetry contained in this blog is spiritual but only a very small fraction is orthodox. I am a poet of the noetic. In those moments of pure religion that I dip into I turn to my own great tradition that is Christianity whose central core, that I sometimes struggle to live, is SACRIFICIAL love. Sacrificial love is far easier said than done. Autobiography represents a wonderful opportunity to say 'thank you' to the teachers, professors, counselors, mentors and therapists to whom I owe a legion of thanks.

Första singeln “All The Rowboats”finns tillgänglig digitalt nu. På nya albumet återförenas Reginamed sin producent-partner Mikke Elizondo (Eminem, Fiona Apple, Dr Dre), det är Reginas första album sen “Far” som släpptes 2009. Den 21 april släpper Reginatvå ryska låtar, “The Prayer Of François Villon (Molitva)” och “Old Jacket (Stariy Pedjak),” som hon gör till sina egna i exklusiva tolkningar för Record Store Day. Spektor skrev själv elva av låtarna på albumet. Tillsammans med Elizondo jobbade de fram arrangemanget till låtarna för att få varje låt att stå ut från mängden. De flesta låtarna spelades in live med Spektor bakom pianot och mikrofonen för att sedan i efterhand lägga resten av instrumenten på dessa orginalinspelningar. Elizondo beskriver hur det var att arbeta med albumet ;“Regina Spektor is that rare artist that continues to surprise. Just when you think you have her figured out, she knocks you out with something completely different. It’s that spirit that drives this record. Each song takes you on a journey that only Regina is capable of providing.
