A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum

Based on ancient Roman playwright ' farces Pseudolus, Miles Gloriosus, and Mostellaria, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum tells the outrageous story of a Roman slave named Pseudolus and his wild attempts to obtain his freedom. He sees his chance by helping his young master, Hero, gain the attention of the mysterious girl next door, Philia. There is one problem: Philia is a courtesan from the House of Marcus Lycus, and she is already owned by the renowned soldier Captain Miles Gloriosus. If Pseudolus can figure out a way for Hero to wed the fair Philia, he will gain his freedom. This won't be easy but it will be hilarious as Pseudolus' machinations include mistaken identity, door slamming, slaps, kicks to the derriere, and a few cross-dressing courtesans!
