by Craig Degginger Wherever Meir Kahane goes, controversy is sure to follow. Kahane's first appearance in Seattle Nov. 19 sparked a large protest at Seattle Center against the militant Kach party leader who advocates expulsion of all Arabs from Israel. Nearly 300 people showed up to picket his speech in the Shaw Room, but only about 75 were willing to pay $5 a head to hear the message Kahane has delivered countless times before to audiences in the U.S. and Israel. The protest actually consisted of two vastly different groups — one representing Jews against Kahane, led by Kadima and the International Jewish Peace Union — and another led by a coalition of anti- Meir Kahane speaks in the Shaw Room Israel, anti-Zionist and pro-Arab organiza (above), while nearly 300 protest outside. tions, including the Freedom Socialist Par ty and Radical Women. moting his appearance.
